You've never heard any 90s alt rock?
Krautrock wasn't really a scene or a definitive sound. It was a term given by critics from the UK to describe German psychedelia in the 70s. You can't really revive something that was hardly a real thing in the first place.
Stereolab doesn't make it a revival
There was post-punk revival even though post-punk was also just a dumb scene focused term.
Well sure but you could find A LOT of that in there, especially in the early post rock scenes, but not as direct and obvious as something like pic related.
Krautrock wasn't even a scene, though. You had Berlin School, and there was a bit of a progressive electronic/new age revival in the 2010s. Then you had Neu! and all the bands that the members of Neu! were in. Then you had a bunch of periphery bands that sounded nothing like either. At least with post punk you have plenty of Joy Division rip offs to draw inspiration from.
*00s space rock scene is where you want to look
There are a fair amount of bands tapping into that sound, you just gotta look a bit. Electric Orange comes to mind and that new King Gizzard track comes very close and all their zoomer fans go hippity hoppity over it.
Stereolab's MARS AUDIAC QUINTET is the best Neu album ever and it's not even fucking close. Straight ear candy.
>moonshake
>pram
>cul de sac
>th feaith healers
>tortoise
even bands like drive like jehu have krautrock influence to them, the thing is, unlike you average revival, those krautrock influenced bands manages to be their own thing instead of trying to appeal to nostalfags
Basically the entirety of first wave post-rock is what you're looking for
This.
>Ash Ra Temple = Hash Jar Tempo
>Can = Cul De Sac
>Neu! = Stereolab
>Faust = Disco Inferno
etc.
kikagaku moyo from japan does a pretty good motorik thing
the jaki liebezeit solo albums and collaborations with people like burnt friendman are a natural evolution of this

krot
Because it fucking sucks
filtered
why is stereolab so fucking shit bros
I wouldn't say it "fucking sucks" but it is most definitely overrated
but the best krautrock album came out in 2015
you guys are too retarded to understand nuance and think modern krautrock would be some epic motorik with sitars on the background.
this is what krautrock sounds like today
