as far as I can tell all it does is look at what artists you've been listening to in the last however long their grading period is, look at what artists they've decided are similar to those then play a random mix of their top played tracks
question: why the fuck do you let an algorithm decide what you listen to?
All it does is recommend you shit you've already listened to or shit by the same artist.
I listened to Still Tippin' by Mike Jones, Slim Thug and Paul Wall every day and it would recommend me Still Tippin' by Mike Jones, Slim Thug and Paul Wall so I think it's pretty good.
ive never tried to let it because im in control of my own listening experience. stop letting corporations choose what you listen to
I ask myself this alot, specially with music in other languages it just completely gets fucks and recommends random shit
Who else am I going to let recommend me music? 4Channers? Redditors? Girls?
the critics
>listen to 1 hip hop/rock/blues song
>the next 10 "random" songs are all the songs from that genre that I've listened to in the last week
Woah I'm discovering so much
Ewwww
>question: why the fuck do you let an algorithm decide what you listen to?
These are the same anons who listen to critics. Only two of them at that. Little girls have better taste than half of Any Forums, just for making their own decisions (shitty though they may be).
Pandoras was actually good and broke it down with actual musical terms.
O still use last.fm and have it connected to my Spotify to shuffle. Its a mix of new and saved music obviously but it works much better
YouTubes recommended is pretty good (well at least compared to Spotifys)
I think the algorithm actually got worse over the years. I used to get the occasional good rec 5 years ago but now it gives me artists I've already listened to or shitty top 40 garbage.
I think it's ok. I got a few good recommendations since I started using spotify. Youtube is far better at recommending stuff anyways
just because i sometimes allow it to go doesn't mean it's deciding anything for me. sometimes it surprises you
“Ask not what the algorithm can do for you, but instead what you can do for the algorithm, my stupid, dumb, lost, innocent child. For I am the light sand truth and your creator.”

seemingly so!! Doesn't really need to be complex
>only listen to good music
>only get good recs
Weird. But mostly
