>So Sabbath takes 15 fucking years to finally do a live album and it conveniently comes out right at the same time I'm releasing one. And they have the fucking nerve to play "Paranoid", "Iron Man", and "War Pigs" without me. Yeah, I do "Iron Man" but that's because people demand I do it. It's my song. Fucking rubbish, man. That would be like if four random guys got together and called themselves the Beatles. They're still riding on songs from 11 years ago 'cause they know the new material they have doesn't cut it. I'm way bigger at this point than Sabbath ever were.

>I mean, some of their new stuff is great but it's not the same band anymore, it's not really Sabbath and they shouldn't call themselves that. All that's left of their sound is Iommi's riffs. I was shocked to see how completely different they were as a band without me. You change the vocalist and it's no longer the same band, it's not like changing out a drummer or a bass player.

Debatable, while he was iconic in the 80s and put out a lot of really big hits and albums I don't think he topped the run with Sabbath.
>it's not like changing out a drummer or a bass player.
It's ironic that he said this because Butler and Ward were unique and couldn't just simply be "easily replaced" in the band. Saying that is like saying that any drummer in LZ could've effectively replaced Bonham without a difference or any bassist in Japan could've replace Mick Karn without a difference.

The rest I agree with tho.

No More Tears sold as well as any Sabbath album and Ozzy has become a pop culture icon since having his own reality show. There are people who know Ozzy that have never heard Black Sabbath. I'm pretty sure everyone that's heard Sabbath has also heard Ozzy's solo stuff

Also, Ozzfest

True, I forgot about him having his own tv show.

Ozzy was the least talented member in Sabbath. He also does the least amount of work on his solo stuff. 99.9% of the songwriting comes from other artists he's recording with. Ozzy just provides a few melodies.

Being the least talented member of a stacked ass band like Sabbath doesn't really knock someone down at all. Sabbath's lyrics are just as iconic as the rest of the music and Ozzy wrote or helped write most of them

Also, you're insane if you think lets people write lyrics for him. By all accounts of people that have worked with him he barely lets people even contribute

You're out of you mind my old son.

He's fucking right, Dio's Sabbath sucked ass...but so too did Ozzy solo.

Heaven and Hell is the best Sabbath album

People seem to tjink it's Ozzy's band, or Dio's band. It's always been Tony Iommi's band from start to finish!

Iommi lost it after Sabotage, started dressing up in disco clothes first and later he wanted to ape everyone from Kiss to Maiden.

what are you talking about? Geezer Butler wrote all of the lyrics for Ozzy-era Sabbath

For me, it's his Halloween Whitesnake period.

Pretty sure he meant way bigger in his album sales and celebrity status.

I don't think it's a lot worse than nu Judas Priest aka Rob Halford and three random guys none of whom played on the classic albums

>if only you knew how bad things really are

I don't even consider the Dio era to be Black Sabbath.

Sabbath was over after Born Again with the exception of Dehumanizer. Besides that? Nothing. That image suits Sabbath well after the fact considering Iommi didn't even have a band anymore.
