For me it's highway to hell
Mostly, yeah. They were pretty consistent in the 90s/early 00s. I think Standards is their best, super underrated
This compilation, A Lazarus Taxon is absolutely ESSENTIAL for any Tortoise fan. Also give A Million living a chance too
I just listened to The Catastrophist and Beacon Of Ancestorship and I find it pretty good, don't get the hate for these two albums in a lot of reviews ?
Ignore it user, their only sub-par album is It's All Around You.
Yes. Beacon of Ancerstorship is one of their best.
I don't get the hate for It's All Around You, to me Standards is the worst one
The only good songs were It's All Around You and The Lithium Stiffs/Crest. Everything else was mediocre for Tortoise's standards.
i like the band but have never heard of this somehow, thanks dawg
No. MNLWND Is their best album tho and one of the pinnacles of post rock
for me it's the simple double bass lines
any other bands that have this relaxed bass riff-heavy post-rock?
Not sure how relaxed it is. But for more two bass from Chicago, you might try Dianogah.
This band would be shitpost to death if anyone on this board really cared about David pajo besides being meme naked swimming spider land dude
david is a pathologic narcissist. I remember when he attempted suicide and posted on his fucking BLOG a letter where he literally made his ex girlfriend feel guilty for the fact that he was killing himself. Hope he's better now.
very based, came here to post this.
dianogah isn't that great imo never was a fan
Exactly what I was going to suggest for that.
