What's it like talking to a metalhead?

Most of my close friends are metalheads I've known since I was a teen, they're normal people with varied interests aside from the fact that metal is their favorite music

I think you'd find most of the people eager to fit a stereotype and act really obnoxious are overzealous 16-18 year olds

if you post ITT then post one metal song you've heard and say what you think even if you don't actively listen to the genre

On average, Metalheads are really chill and openminded. They are also the most interested in hearing something new and receiving recs besides just giving them like some "expert".

Anyway, one of my Metalhead friends showed me this cool Maiden-like band called Aria. Really good stuff

They're mostly dorks with denim jackets or angry drunks. Not too bad in general compared to indie hipsters or the hxc community.

same as talking to anyone else unless its a metalhead that only listens to metal. Then it gets boring real quick.

Some of them are pretty chill. Others are toxic af. I like metal myself and used to hang with a bunch of other metal heads. There was a group of pop punk/emo kids in our town that us guys used to rip on all the time but over time I got talking to one of the emo dudes and man, his life was fucked up. I felt so bad for following the other retard metalheads idea that these guys were lame. Ended up being friends with the emo dude and dropping the toxic metal guys. Sorry, that was longer than I expected but in conclusion, metalheads can be the most toxic of music fans but not all of them.
