>berhinger making a cheap quirky hardware sampler
God I fucking hope this happens, I know several people that are looking for something like this and I keep telling them to hold out. I really dislike the pocket operators and I could never actually use one with my workflow.

ftfy
even if you could clone a single voice of an S950 just for drum breaks that would be neat. anyhow S950 is probably my single favorite piece of electronic music equipment (you know other than guitars and effects and stuff)
clone of akai s20 would be sweet.
those sound great but the Elepian is my personal favorite sound

You're not gonna see a clone of the S950 for $50, sorry. The hardware is too damn complicated and not suitable for cheap production.
I would pay $300 for something if I could adjust the sampling rate and depth. I would pay more if it had a keyboard and could do midi (like a sequencer). I’m not super familiar with the older akai stuff. It should also probably have multiple voices.
$300 might be doable, but not less.
The Emax and Korg DSS-1 are more interesting designs though.
Yeah, I just don’t want to buy vintage hardware and deal with a floppy emulator. The sp 202 (for the lofi) and the new mk2 is an appealing combo, the issue with the 202 is that it’s slow.
I built one of these a few years ago:

It's a pretty grungy sounding 8-bit sampler with knobs for sample rate and bit depth. sounds pretty cool
Oh, and it has MIDI so you can play pitched samples with a keyboard as well. Fair warning though, soldering the one SMT part is a bitch. I fucked up my first board trying it.
this is cool, never seen one before. something about the tone of these rhodes like keyboards sounds so good with a high eq boost and the right reverb. like the interplay between different frequencies creates this shimmery effect. love em
Seems cool but I already have a 202, I used to have a 404 which I sold. I don’t want to buy and wait for parts from Etsy and do some instructable project, would rather have slave labor put it in a proper box and form factor for me. I would rather just use a different plug in, if I have to use a 3.5mm and have my shit be awkward. It’s like a retarded jock who takes an engineering course and they just fuck around with a raspberry pi.
I AM JUST COONSUMER I DONT MAKE MUSIC AND I AM ALSO PHONEPOSTING.
Is Korg Monologue a good first synth to buy?
I just want to make my band sound a little more interesting, no idea how to play the keys tho
Implying circuit boards and variable resistors aren't electromechanical
get gud
Is the poly D as badass as everyone makes it out to be? I'm looking for a monosyntyh or at least a mono/poly and am suffering from both option paralysis and no options
get a pro-1 or model D
That pro one looks coold
didnt know they did a sequential
ive had the boog model D since it came out and i absolutely love it, everyone i know who owns one loves it. i dont keep up with synth forums anymore but i thought the consensus was the poly D wasnt nearly as well received as the model D? could be wrong.
model D and a keystep would be my rec, still cheaper than the poly D
