listened to it the day it came out, thought it was nice, forgot about it since

that was my experience as well. will maybe give it a listen today to see if I still like it

its good but not as memorable as something like Strawberry Jam. A step in the right direction for the group after the awful Painting With

Pretty good, much better than some of their other recent releases but fairly forgettable otherwise. I’ve listened to it twice and very little has stuck with me

An unexpected redemption, they actually still have good melodies and songs left in them. On the whole, a middling release that doesn't compare to their best works, but I think of it as a palate cleanser before we get the next album. The songs slated for that one has it shaping up to be the best work since MPP. btw, not an MPP fanboy or anything, just speaking in relative terms of quality.

i guess i share a lot of the sentiment ITT - i listened to it once, enjoyed it, and haven't felt the urge to revisit it. it's a good album from a band who have made too many fantastic albums to coast like this. AnCo treading water.

I find it so surprising just how much I loved this album when it came out and now I completely forgot about it.

I’m probably the only one who revisits it, Royal and Desire keeps bringing me back

I like it a lot, tracks 7 and 8 are just not quite good enough

Can someone please fucking help me. What the fuck is the new song they've been playing with Avey on bass or guitar, is fast and stilted and has Avey yelling something like "THERE IS NOT A BLAH. BLAH. BLAHBLAH. BLAH" Can't find anything of it anywhere.

You know what, that's totally it and they've just changed the song a lot on the new tour. That's probably why I didn't immediately catch it when I was watching vids of defeat last night. Thanks for pinpointing that moment user, I wish I could find a version of how they do it now but everyone just posts the slow section of defeat.

this is from november 2021 studio sessions, so it's probably closer to what they're doing on tour now. the part you mentioned starts a little after 24:00
