Can't make anything good, just creating. I'm fucking stuck, what should I do? Just have to keep sucking until I don't?

>how's this in comparison? >i do have the habit of repetitive bars >i don't know how much is too much variety as music usually has repetition >voca.ro/15oOTutDj3CR
sorry for the late reply, i think you're taking it the wrong way, you have to be a bit careful with overdoing it, especially leading tones as they're kinda cheesy, it's usually better to play around with syncopation/timing of the same notes, move in thirds and fifths vertically.
I messed around w your track a bit and threw some quick ideas in, lots of different ways to take it but you can use reverb, delay etc to just add space/texture as well as different timing on your additions, usually putting the next bar note a 1/4 ahead can help throw the static sense off a bit. the ending is just an example of how you can develop into something different based on similar harmony and groove
also good to be careful with too many 8th or 16th notes when you've got a very 4th centric groove going
c) Jonathan Peters on Udemy, especially Music Composition 1&2 and 4 Part Harmony, you can find those on audioz too i think udemy.com/user/jonathanpeters/
d) Polymath Producer, start with this then watch his music analysis vids, ignore all the shilling for his course (applications are closed anyways) youtube.com/watch?v=WmD4Dou5qCw
of course there's much more resources and you should consume whatever works for you

textures or atmosphere. its too empty. sounds very potential though homie.
This is great, it just needs some compression and EQ, high-end is way too quiet

sometimes you can make these weird effects that when played on headphones at certain conditions, for example if the volume is quite low, your ears will perceive these sounds like they're coming from not right or left or centre but from outside of the headphones somewhere behind you. there are even some plugins which are supposedly designed to make this exact effect but i've honestly never had much luck getting this with those plugins
it's really obvious when someone doesn't know any music theory, because their songs just sound aimless, lifeless, boring, etc. it's one of the best ways to become a better musician, regardless of the genre you're aiming for.
for those of you that deep down know it's true, but still haven't started learning it even though there are countless resources out there, what's stopping you from learning it? or what stopped you?
