Bands don't need to be underground or obscure to be good. Obviously I don't expect someone who likes "underrated" groups like The Sound to get this.

Your argument was literally that my feeble mind couldn't handle This Heat based on your assumption that i liked The Sound and The Chameleons. Despite the fact that This Heat are literally the more popular and most acclaimed band out of the three. For what it's worth though, This Heat could never make a song as good as Longest Days or Soul in Isolation.

Not so much the enjoying the melodic part but more so the rejection of universally acclaimed classic groups like This Heat just because you can't understand it, and praising groups like The Chameleons, who before the algorithms started favouring them, were mostly just known by manchester fags. And the main reason for this is because you were exposed to them first due to things like youtube recs and rym charts.
