BHN is just good ole rock n roll, loud, in your face, unrelenting
It isn't trying to be anything other than that

it's bad - they did way to much coke during the recording process and it shows (not in a good way)

rock bands reach a dangerous point when they become better at writing ballads than uptempo rockers (though there's a case to be made that the former were always noel's strong side)

The dumbest thing the music press could have done was expect lightning to strike three times in the same place.
Otherwise, an OK record

The first two I don't get as albums. This was their first proper coherent album. I'd listen to it again. For fun.

Good, but way overproduced. Stand By Me is great
