On this week's Hot 100

three months and nothing has happened, it's british, boring, but now a lot less gay

>Encanto tops the chart for another week.
>GAYLE's "abcdefu" now peaks at #3. Help us all.
>Justin Bieber's "Ghost" peaks at #7.
>Elton John and Dua Lipa's "Cold Heart (PNAU Remix)" returns to the top 10.

I'm pretty sure I haven't heard any of these
including the disney one

how the fuck is heat waves this pervasive. its so boring, its a nothing burger of a song

I've heard four of them I think
still can't believe my parents like dua lipa

Society has collapsed.

based JB still dabbing on boomers after all these years

How have these songs stayed this big
Are arts broke or smth?

Effectively no one else is dropping. All the big pop artists already dropped in 2021. What you see right now are 2021 leftovers and the radio saturating the success for every song on there.

Someone will soon make a pro-ukraine song and it'll get the top spot

>now a lot less gay
>Gayle peaks higher now

Why is The Weekend's 'Sacrifice' not reaching top 10? It's a whole lot better than anything on here, and wasn't he a chart topper all throughout 20-21?
Looks like it really is over for pop music.

>Why is The Weekend's 'Sacrifice' not reaching top 10?
bad marketing
>Looks like it really is over for pop music.
half of that top 10 is pure pop shit though

>half of that top 10 is pure pop shit though
Very true, but I create a distinction between "AI-generated pop" and "pop music". When I hear the ABC song or Ed Sheeran's new songs, it's very obvious that the writers and producers used AI programs to generate the melodies and sounds.
I don't think radio and mainstream music has ever been worse than it is currently.

Encanto staying at #1 and most of the songs thriving on radio numbers makes it evident that the charts are flimsy right now
Right now is a prime opportunity for an artist to debut at #1 and stay for months
Nicki tried it but her song was somehow more boring than the top 10

1974 and 75 hold the all-time record with both years having 35 songs go to #1

In contrast, here's last decade's top 10.

We've gone from mildly bad to pretty damn bad.

a whole decade of shitty pop music, nice.

1. Really shitty break up song.
2. I don’t like Adele but the 21 singles were all solid. Though fire and rain metaphors are very over used
3. I assume Whitney just died? I hate this version.
4. Awful faux-inspiration nonsense
5. Probably the most interesting song of her career. Never made anything like it since
6. Decent song with a stupid chorus
7. Good piano ballad
8. Not a fan don’t know why it was so big
9. Something of a guilty pleasure. 12 year old me used to cum buckets to this and the ass video.
10. Don’t know this song but it probably sucks

sorry too busy listening to The Great Twenty-Eight. there might be a day when Ed Sheeran comes up with something as genius as Reelin' and Rockin' but I wouldn't hold my breath for it.

>schizo shit
okay
