Give up on music lol

Having 1 million monthly Spotify listeners will net you the same yearly income as being an assistant manager at a mini golf course.

The real money is in giving concerts though, and it's always been that way

the only money in music now is from touring and advertisements

Touring will cost the artist money unless they are selling out stadiums.

if you’re making music for money or “as a business” you’ve already failed, everyone is laughing at you

successful entertainment people are less musicians and more successful enough socialites to get their material advertised and circulating

popular music discussion will keep getting homogenised, and the underground has become too overflowing with throwaway garbage

you’re best off appealing to a particular niche scene nowadays, you’ll make a lot more off one or two albums beloved by an entire fandom for three months than trying to make wide-appeal singles that will be forgotten about in three weeks anyways

unless you already know enough important jews to get your music on the radio

>you’re best off appealing to a particular niche scene nowadays, you’ll make a lot more off one or two albums beloved by an entire fandom for three months than trying to make wide-appeal singles that will be forgotten about in three weeks anyways
No you won't. The musicians in niche scenes are rich boys using up their trust funds. If they actually had to live off of their own earnings they would not be able to sustain being a musician.

I never implied you’d make enough to live off of. You can’t with music unless you are a constant live performer. But it is undeniable that the sales from a meme-appeal album will get you a bunch of bonus money compared to a highly personal and original work.

If you get one song with 10 million plays that's 40k right there. If you have 300k monthly listeners, you'd need to maintain that for 3 years to hit 40k.

I’m talking about album sales not streaming you one-track-minded zoomer fuck, get off the internet

Yeah but being an assistant manager at a mini golf course doesnt let you play gigs and get art hoe pussy

This thread is about streaming.

NFT-issued music will be status quo within 15 years. globohomo will unironically save us all

99% of musicians are struggling to get by, what else is new?

no it won't retard

Yes it will. You have never been on tour.

Kek

have you ever driven $50 worth of gas to a shitty venue with like 7 fans only to get paid $30 and oh shit now you have to feed your hungry band too? imagine doing that over and over and then oh shit now the crappy van you got into debt for is breaking down and you can’t even tour anymore, and the local venues are always filled up? have you ever? didn’t think so buddy!

Imagine giving up music because of a streaming plataform and income issues

Perhaps music was never your thing user, it's ok

music is either a hobby or a job. it's ok that you are a hobbyist, but stay out of the affairs of the professionals.

>professionals
you are a bedroom bound internet addict collecting pennies off streaming sites for your soulless tracks

it’s ok that you are a money hungry jew, but stay out of the affairs of real artists

do you have any evidence for your claims?

yeah man look right here

Retard

Successful bands make money

sorry man I have cancer of the neck and can’t look down what are you trying to show me here

Elaborate on How.

By getting their songs in ads and TV shows/ movies, yes.

People go to their shows and buy merch/records. Moderate size indie bands make money, not a lot. But enough.
