It depends on what you like about them. They were a madchester band, so the obvious thing would be to recommend other madchester bands like Happy Mondays, Inspiral Carpets, and The Charlatans, or grebo artists like Carter USM or Ned's Atomic Dustbin, or alt-dance artists like Primal Scream.

However, they're also a jangle pop band, so you might like other jangle pop artists of the late 80s, like The Wedding Present or The House of Love.

But they're also sort of a 60s throwback, which means you might like Britpop or neo-psychedelia. So it really depends on what you're looking for.

oasis and the smiths. a lot of mancunian guitar pop is cut from the same cloth

but honestly nothing really manages to capture the same vibe of spectacular melodies, danceable grooves, and 80s psychedelic jangle. (great albums are always un-reproducible desu)

When making this album, they were really into the psych revival sound of The Dukes of Stratosphear. I'd check that out.

maybe it’s because I was first exposed to the sixpence cover as a child when it was popular but I do not like that song desu even though I love jangle pop. it just makes me cringe.
