Some stoner rock band I really like is coming to my town in two weeks. I really want to go, if it won't get canceled due to covid anyway, but since I have no friends with a similar music taste I'm not sure if it won't be a little weird. I can't dance and have never been to a concert before, am just 18 too, how do I not look too stupid? I guess this would this be a great way to meet people with a similar taste in music, just go out to smoke and talk to someone? Is there anything else I should keep in mind in order to make this as great of an experience as possible?
Do you go to concerts alone often Any Forums? Please tell me about the things you experienced. I bet live music is awesome.
Thoughts on going to concerts alone?

You're overthinking it. Just go
Been to loads on my own, do it! It's a brilliant experience. Everyone is there to enjoy it, nobody's going to go "Oh look, some loser on their own!" Actually, in some ways it's better than going with friends as there are more opportunities to meet new people rather than just sticking close to your little group.
what band, I will be going to all them witches show alone let's link up senpai
it can be pretty good to go alone. You have no weight so you can move easilt, you can getnto the front of the crowd and look at the band upclose if thats your thing. also its a music concert sto he time goes by quickly, your're concentrated on the music anyway so being alone isn't a big deal. If you're lucky yoi might actually meet someone in the crowd and hang out. Also, depending on the band, a lot of them usually ha g around the festival/gig afterwards so when you're alone you can come up to them and chat or take a selfie, things you might find cringe if you were with friends there. Took a pic with Kurt Vile that way.
Thanks, I will make sure to go. This sounds really good. I'd imagine a festival would be even better, but its just a small gig, maybe I can do stuff like that more often in summer.
>all them witches
Oh I wish they would come close to me! I don't want to say which band, because I live in a small city and it's not that popular either. But I wish you a lot of fun at atw, they are the single band I wish to see most in my life.
I never got the life music meme. There's a reason artist recorded that particular take of a song, because it is the best. Playing something on a stage can only get worse. So what's the point of paying so much for something so worthless when you can literally get the perfect music from your computer?
Go, you'll regret it if you don't. Maybe have a drink or two before. Or a joint in your case. Going to concerts alone is better than not going at all.
Going to concert with mates is cool and going alone doing your own shit how you like is also cool. Always get myself a nice meal afterwards
This is true only if the artist sucks live
Good live artists put new spins on the material, people like The Velvet Underground or Grateful Dead rarely played a song the same way twice. Makes less sense in this day and age.
old gen-x'er here. I've been to a ton of concerts, both by myself and with friends.
By a mile, going alone is the best way to experience a concert. By a mile.
Don't get me wrong, I completely dig my friends and my wife, but concerts alone are the best.
Also, if you'll indulge a little advice, one of the most important things in life is to learn how to enjoy things by yourself; to be good company for yourself. That's a great way to avoid winding up in abusive relationships, or relationships where you're only with the other person because you don't want to be alone.
You are getting some good advice here. I would add resist any urge to get wasted - you have a rare chance to really experience a live concert by your fave band undistracted. Keep your senses sharp and you will never forget it

This is some of the single most important advice a young person could hear.
agreed; I wish someone had given me that advice when I was young

Yes. Its always better to go alone than not at all.
I'm an antisocial mysanthropic loner.
I hate people.
I always go to concerts alone.
It's much more fun then having to worry about your friends, or main squeeze.
