theres basically three camps: hur dur skronky no wave children sonic is best, meh i lie the hipster pop grunge sonic the best, and the ascended true cult sonic youth reconnected with the source sonic is the best. the eternal is really their best album - utterly effortless compositions flowing freely. almost all the post sy individual work is really good.
