agree with radio music + tiktok, as its letting others decide what you're listening to. Your link is awful to listen to, but I think its worthwhile to consider this:
Listening to music and engaging with it is different than listening to it as background noise. If you're listening to music and engaging with it as a piece of art, of course this song is dogshit, but that's not how most people listen to music. Having it as background noise is easy, as it has an agreeable, easily identifiable melody. In my opinion, an issue that people who have an interest in music as an art run into (and perpetuate) is using the same terms (ex: good song, awesome album/artist) which creates a total disconnect on how interactions between these types of people go down. A parallel in art would be trying to compare visually appealing logo designs to abject art.Their goals are totally different, and to assess them on the same basis is asinine. An art critic would be delusional to consider the abject art beautiful, just as a music critic would be delusional call Tim Buckley's voice beautiful, or Adam Demirjian's voice beautiful. Not trying to get on some elitist bullshit or anything and say that one way of consuming music is better than another btw, different strokes for different folks

I guess it depends on the country, but in Spain you have 4 basic routes:
-Queen, AC/DC, Dire Straits, Extremoduro, etc (Cringe Dadrock route)
-TikTok Music + Reggaeton (Basic Zoomer route)
-Imagine Dragons, RHCP, Twenty One Pilots, etc (Cringe "Rock" degenrate route)
-Chojin, Nach, SFDK, VV, etc (Cringe Rap Millenial route)
>Imagine Dragons and 21 Pilots are "rock"
Jesus no wonder people say the genres dead
