How can you enjoy a song you've listened to a 1000th times before?

Take breaks in between or literally be autistic.

Even if you take months off from listening to that particular song when you come back to it you will find it's still ingrained in your brain and you could only only enjoy it passively.

By being a human being and not braindead npc

What do you mean?

Then you have to be literally autistic. Simple as.

autism

So the only thing I can do is to keep searching for more songs to enjoy.

I do.

Yes, unless you legitimately have autism. Most people here make a very serious hobby out of keeping up to date with their favorite genre and branching out into new genres/artists. How new are you, user? I've been here since 2011 and this was always the case.

I always wonder how people who go the club nights in suburban Britain can do it for years at a time:
Mr Brightside
Don't Stop Believing
Living on a Prayer etc.
I can't think of a song I like enough to even listen to twice in a row, I think it ruins it a bit.

I’ve been jerking it to the same porn .wmas since 2003

Sometimes

its not autism and its not taking rests. you have to live. live and come back to art and youll find new and enriched meaning.

Listening to a track or album 1000+ times is 100% autism. 100-250 times? Sure, but unless you're 40+ years old, it's autism.

First time I'm posting in this board. Music isn't a serious hobby of mine, I just enjoy hearing songs when I'm driving or playing online.

Porn =/= music

I can't enjoy anything else.

Well that's just how people here usually listen to music, as a serious hobby. Most people here either have a RateYourMusic or Last.fm account to rate/catalog or track the music they listen to. Welcome, newfriend. This board used to be so active back in the day, but it has been dead since like 2014/15, but enjoy your stay.

I will be more of a tourist than anything, come once in a while to ask something and then leave.

If you want the gay answer, by the feeling. A track can be ingrained in your memory easily if it's either catchy or if you associate it with something. Like an ex-GF/BR or when you had fun with the boys at school long ago.

Example on point for me would be Hold Your Colour, lyrics played a part but the moody and build-up was literally on point with angsty teenage feels and flowing emotion to have fun.

Non-gay answer is just switch between tracks and you'll eventually go back to it. It's not like they are lost forever.

I'm more of an audiophile than avid music listener, meaning I don't listen to new music anymore, I listen to music I listened to 10 years ago. I spend money on headphones and IEMs. I used to listen to 5-6 albums a day but got tired. Now I'm happy.
