Crescendocore should not be considered post-rock

I mean it's a wave but with a name like post-rock you get all sorts of fag shit

Listen to some sigur ros

Kveikur is their best record

Mogwai sucks

Almost as hard as GY!BE does

Yep, in fact the only good true post-rock band is Slint

Talk Talk is good

Post-Rock never really got anywhere because the electric guitar really isn't good for making instrumental music. Unlike classical, jazz, or electronic music, rock music always needs a vocal element to be appealing because without it the electric guitar gets exposed for it's cheesy sound.

most of slints material isn't even post rock bro

>cheesy sound
listen to more music

>Kveikur is their best record
this. don't know why AB and () get all the praise here. picrel is underrated too

Ignorant take, OP.

They sound so fresh on Kveikur and Von.
AB and () are good records too but those feel like completely insular experiences.
and Jonsi sounds so good on kveikur it hurts :')

>They sound so fresh on Kveikur and Von.
agreed, they both have some kind of edge to them while still being really beautiful. though to be honest i don't think they've ever made a "bad" album - very consistent band
>Jonsi sounds so good on kveikur it hurts :')
definitely. i wonder if we'll ever get a new album from them or if they're just gonna keep remixing stuff and doing soundtracks and ambient stuff until they call it a day

eh maybe sometimes, though i'd say it makes up for it by being well-suited for effects. you can't really distort a piano or saxophone in the same way so there's more options for texture with an electric guitar

Godspeed is literally the only post-rock band even worth mentioning in 2022.

So post-rock is based on blues rock?

On the contrary. Slint is the only authentic post-rock band. So post-rock that they decided not to rock.
