It's kind of true to an extent, I always found it interesting that operating systems like WinXP which I absolutely adored, were completely hated by tech nerds when they came out, much like how I first felt with Windows 7(bad drivers and crappy computer at the time)/8/10/11.
But I'm only 23 and I fucking despise the tech bros in companies plunging products to shitty SaaS models and insane data collection the immorality of which will never pass the ethics board in any other industry. Not to mention the complete disrespect of the hardware they run stuff on, I never understood the sentiment of "just do things the dumbass way, computers gonna get faster anyway lol" when perfectly good hardware is becoming e-waste because some dumb fuck who makes 200k+ USD a year is still perpetually afraid of anything that isn't javascript. Ok fine, most of the bad decisions in tech were made by MBAs hunting those quarterly growth quotas at the expense of their own souls and the programmers are just cogs in the machine, I just wish it wasn't like this you know?
