security and privacy are different things, and often at odds with one another.
Well a degoogled phone will be better for your privacy, having an unlocked bootloader means you can flash whatever software you want if you get possession of it and do whatever you want with it. Thus, a locked bootloader phone is better for security.
In this case you can have lots of access for extensions to do great things for you, like give you more privacy by blocking ads. However, this is a double edged sword and users could install things that harm both their security AND privacy. Google is an ad company at heart, and the needs of normies is more important than power users to them.
