Has anyone here ran their cpu "hot rod" in the long term...

Has anyone here ran their cpu "hot rod" in the long term? I'm concerned with longevity issues running with no heatsink but it would save space and look cleaner

Thoughts?

arm cpus do it all the time

what do you mean by hot rod? running it at max frequency 100% of the time or just overclocking?

I've been running my 2500k hotrod for years, no issues

Stock frequency but with no heatsink

hotrod?
sounds like a hardon thats been jerked too long

Are you fucking dumb?

this has got to be the stupidest fucking thing I have ever heard of. If you do this, you're fucking stupid.

When was the last time you had a CPU die?

Ok it lasts only 5 years without the heatsink instead of 10 when it's obsolete anyway, who cares?

yeah i run my attiny85 hot rod all the time

My windows on arm notebook is fanless :^)

LMAO what the fuck is this thread

>lasts only 5 years without the heatsink instead of 10
theres a reason why my 5 year old cpu works as good as it did when i first got it

>He still uses a 5 year old CPU

Never, because I'm not a complete retard who runs them without heatsinks. Try it and watch it overheat within a minute even at idle. Last time you could do that was with 486s with 3W TDP. Even the 5W ones already had small passive heatsinks on them.

I run my 10980xe hotrod and it runs a little hot but it's fine, quit being dramatic

It... No.
Get yourself either a liquid cooler or a small aerial cooler

Long term? Mate, I booted a computer with no heatsink and the cpu was finger burn hot after 20 seconds

I want to show off the CPU I have though, without the cooler blocking the text

Of course it burned your finger, CPUs run at like 80c even with the heatsink

modern components have extensive thermal protection systems. you're unlikely to damage any components, or even to dramatically reduce their lifespans - however, you'll likely experience thermal throttling or shutdown much much frequently without properly installed cooling. just get a heat sink idiot.

why don't you try it and tell us how it goes

The Athlon XP didn't even have a heatspreader, you'd be a fool to run it hotrod

Do you literally have a folder of just cats puking?

no one that comes to your house will care, retard
>muh reddit spec threads!
just take it off for that occasion

>run Pentium 4 without heatsink
>can grill bacon
>run Athlon XP without heatsink
>accidentally create IED
