MacBooks are the only laptops where you don’t have to compromise on anything. Every other laptop has one or more of the following parts as cheap shlock or inferior to the MacBook: keyboard, trackpad, display quality, resolution, speakers bezel size, materials. Ok, lets pretend for a moment there was a non-Apple laptop that didn’t have any compromises, what then? Oh right you’re stuck with windows which spies on you or GNOO/LOONIX where you’ll be lucky to be able to track to open your browser without a hitch to play a YouTube video in the browser that doesn’t load for 30 seconds. Oh and all for $899 w/ student pricing for the shiny new m1 base model. MacBooks FTW!!

I think all if not all macbooks in the last 10 years (maybe more) had major issues a year or tow down the line due to components that were purposefully intended to break. Also making a latpop with a fan that doesn't even directly blow over the heatsink is absolutely, unapologetically retarded design (picrel) idc how efficient your CPU is.

Imagine comparing the best-in-class aspects of other devices to each of the well-rounded aspects of an $899 complete package. You can pick and choose aspects and find some product, outside of the price range that is better in one regard, but all of these devices are inferior overall.
