Which monitor size is best?

27" or 32"?
I'm not even gonna mention 24" because that obviously isn't the correct answer.

Depends on the resolution. 24 actually pretty cool with full 4k. Fonts look so sharp and clean.

retard

24 1080p is what I use and feel is already too big but just right, but a 1440p 27" sounds like a good choice too

At what point is that PPI even perceptible though?
Do you have the monitor really close to you?

21" 1024p

17" 1440x900

I don't understand how people can use 1440p or 2160p monitors
there's always something fucked up somewhere

Thats easy.
32

28"

32 if it's 1440p or higher. Don't get a 27 inch 1080p monitor. I did and wish I had gotten a 24 instead.
You best be trollin boy

I have 27" but I want 32 or higher, max of 42".
End game monitor would be an 8k 1800R Ultrawide 32" or 42" equivalent uLED/QDEL without burn in that you can provide multiple inputs to split into multiple monitors with picture in picture when needed.
No bezels, no backlight inconsistency, no halo artifacts, no bullshit. We're getting close to that.

Bigger is better - my vision sucks from looking at monitors for 25 years.

Is the ASUS ROG Swift 360Hz PG259QN worth it for $498.15 (RRP $1079)?
I read it's the fastest monitor atm, but also see people say the 360hz isn't worth it and to get a 1440p 240hz instead.

4k at 32" which is what I am running is pretty good. Just wish I had gotten an IPS display that was brighter and had higher refresh rates (120-140).

thats not been a problem for 8 years

>You best be trollin boy
Apple does it for years. Yes, you can use 4k on 32, 40 or 65 inch, It won't be as sharp

Yeah, I remember the 2012, when the first high resolution screens hit the market. I don't think it's the problem anymore.

1440p don't even require scaling

22" 1536p

It's not about what is perceptible, at that point. The reason why you want 4k at 24 is that 200% scaling will give you the exact same UI size as 1080p native would.
Basically what you want from a monitor is double the resolution of what would produce the correct UI size, so you never have to use fractional scaling.

What kind of panel do you have?
btw I agree, 32" is a great size for a desktop monitor. And 4k is fine, but I suppose at that size a higher resolution would be better.

21.5" 1080p and 43" 4k

Except current 43" 4k monitors are kinda crap and usually VA with BGR pixel layouts.

OK, let me play devil's advocate here - I love VA panels for their black levels. I don't think OLED is ready for desktop use yet, and I couldn't give two shits about ghosting anyway.

I really want 5K@32". But I guess the best we'll get is 4K, having to use shitty 1.5x scaling

VA is fine. But bgr is just terreble.
