Consider using an MPV forntend if you don't like MPV Linux(GTK) users mostly use Celluloid celluloid-player.github.io/ MacOS users use IINA iina.io/ Windows users manage to somehow have all the good and no good front ends at the same time.

I would recommend it but i have no idea how to make it use yt-dlp instead of youtube-dl. I have managed to do this with MPV but not MPVnet

mpv automatically uses bilinear scaling when stretching the window, i have no idea how to tell it to use nearest oir anything else, this pisses me off the most and it's why i use vlc

previously you could change it with a setting. Now it does it automatically if it does not find youtube-dl Meanwhile the mpvnet dev is on vacation or something. personally i do not care about configuring stuff and i just like it to unironically "just work."

I don't use it for youtube/streaming that often, but you might try renaming yt-dlp executable to youtube-dl.exe and place it in the mpvnet folder, this might work.
