Will Intel's 13th gen CPUs put these average watts down a notch or this now the norm?
Mason Campbell
no idea but as for the current stuff, keep in mind that those disparities are only present in all core loads that use avx in gaming, intel and amd are pretty close in power consumption
Joshua Powell
techincally, yes, effectively, there's 2 (and a half) standard size for a regular m.2 ssd (the extra "half a size" comes from slots that are mounted high enough to fit high capacity drives with nand chips on both sides without bending) and a smaller short length that's usually used in low-cost devices or often for small add-in cards (typically a wifi/bluetooth module), but these size slots usually come with stuff preinstalled so technically yes effectively no

whichever one you can purchase for closest to msrp gpus are commodity hardware all pc parts are commodity hardware
Cooper Morgan
what he said but use a different metric, go by $/fps if the results are close, always prefer nvidia for the extra features
Jayden Lopez
Fuck, no 10th gen I wonder if 10900k consooooms more watts then 12700k
Julian Cook
Is that Ethan Ralph's side piece?

>6500XTs for the cheap They are £200 in the uk and have been in stock since launch. As long as supply in tight in your region and demand high prices are unlikely to fall.
Better/cheaper shipping, intel shipping new gpus in volume, and ex-mining gpus flooding the market due to a crypto crash are the big events like to change this.

Are the 12th gen Intel stock coolers really that shit?
Evan Williams
1060 6GB here, do I try to find a 3050 for a decent price or should I wait for Intel GPUs for a 1080p gaming setup? I also do digital art and have a secondary tablet that doubles as a screen which I will be using as well.
Aaron Hernandez
All stock coolers are shit
Nolan Morris
My poor 970 decided it couldnt hold out another year. Any GPUs I could get for under 300 that would be at least of similar power to it?
Benjamin Jenkins
3050 still sucks as a value. literally did nothing
James Watson
sure a used gtx970 (jokes aside, for 300 you can maybe upgrade to a 980 or even a 980ti)
Joshua Wright
both are trash because they are white women
Sebastian Nelson
Actually my stock cooler before lasted 5 years.
Lincoln Gomez
If looking on 2nd-hand market then Techpower up says rx480, or rtx1060 6gb. If you're talking new then you're looking for a 1650 Super or better
Irrelevant, air coolers in general last very long, stock coolers are still shit regardless performance wise
Nicholas Lopez
>Budget 1080p: RX 6500XT The 6500 XT should only be considered in PCIe 4.0 systems. In PCIe 3.0 systems, something like an RX 570 will be the same performance for $100 less, which is a much better stopgap option
A 1060 6GB is still decent, no reason to upgrade considering pricing
They're fine. I would at least the 12th gen box cooler a try. I'm using stock on a 5600X and I don't need more
Gaming power consumption is about like pic related. Over time, power consumption might go up as games get more CPU demanding. Techpowerup has some i9 12900K perf/watt scaling numbers with various power limits (anything over 175W is severely diminishing performance returns, IIRC).
All depends on power limits and workload
There are different lengths (e.g., 2280, 22x80mm) and keyings (M, B)
Used 1060 3GB, RX 470/570 4GB. Since (of course I'm assuming) you have an old system without PCIe 4.0, the 6500 XT is a no go for you.
