He actually tried to prevent this. Part of the reason Android caught up with iOS in the market is because people wanted big fatass phones but Apple refused to follow the trend until Android had gained a lot of traction.

Jobs best contribution was making all tech companies post the Apple resurgence realize you have to keep MBA scumbags out of your company and really try to find people that execute and give them what they need to bang out product.
