Never. I don't use that shit (((os))).

last week

Yesterday. My own software.

Literally never. Been writing software for 20 years and have never used Linux.

I've only ever compiled things on Windows

first time on Any Forums?

I installed Kubuntu in VirtualBox and discovered that it wouldn't allow me to change the screen resolution. It would change briefly and then revert. I then tried installing VirtualBox Guest Extensions, which required compiling them from source. Once they were installed, the system failed to boot. I fucking hate Linux.

Almost every apt update
>Update system using the "safe" update settings
>Something important randomly breaks
>searching error brings up years old github tickets with the error listed as fixed and the same bug in different distros
>bug workaround is usually downgrading an specific package
>.deb is not available for your distro
>grab source and compile it
>some dependency is not met
>dependency is not available in repos and no.deb or source either
>only available in the repo of a deprecated ancient ubuntu version
>give up and reinstall
>sometimes you can actually fulfill all dependencies needed to compile the program
>program made by a single unpaid guy who hasnt updated it since 2008
>compilation error despite following make instructions
>no information online on how to fix error
>sometimes it does compile but the program still does not work
>100% guaranteed something else broke after installing all those packages
>waste another 30~hours trying to fix thing
>give up and reinstall distro
Gotta love the Linux® experience.
