This angle had the potential imo to be the best angle involving a faction since the NWO had they done it right. Needless to say, they did not do it right at all. In fact it was a complete tragic joke what they did with Nexus. I guess in a sense then it did fizzle out in a shitty way just like NWO. Thankfully Nexus didn't last nearly as long.
I guess great storylines with a heel faction rising up is just too much for this industry to handle right.
