What the fuck does this even mean?

What the fuck does this even mean?

Will I get the same gains doing 5x10 bench at 40kg as a 1x1 at 2000 kg?

retarded question.

Yes but no. Obviously you can’t rep 2000kg but iirc they did tests and compared the gains of low weight and high weight and the volume is what really mattered. It’s much more efficient to just do the highest weight you comfortably can in the recommended rep ranges
>5 for strength
>8-12 for hypertrophy

correct
if you do 6-7 reps you lose gains

Based fuck 6 and 7 reps that is why we have many dyels

You forgot about tempo, which is divided into seconds of eccentric movement, seconds of pause in a lengthed position, seconds of cocentric movement and seconds of pause in a shortened position.

Which means that total time under tension is = Volume X tempo = Reps x Sets x Weight x(eccentric+pause+cocentric+pause)

You'll gain more muscle mass doing 10x10x70kg then 5x5x100kg.
Simple maths mean you're lifting 7000kg vs 2500kg in your chest.

Are niggas out there really doing ten sets per exercise

This is completely wrong
It’s volume done at >80% of your max that counts. And increasing this is extremely difficult
Reducing weights and repping 50,000
Lbs total will do nothing for you. And this is why 99% of people (you) make nogains after their first few years

Everyone knows this, including you. But you reallllllllllyy want it to be not true, because it means an actual meaningful workout will be really fucking painful to complete and you reallly really want there to be a comfortable alternative (that only smart people know about). But there isnt

Why don't regular gyms ever carry these. Having 50kg plates would be so awesome. Most gyms don't even have 25kg plates.

Sounds retarded

What if you do 1000x2x1kg? That won't gain you any muscle would it now

I do it for fun sometimes, takes forever though.

I think you’d be surprised how doing 1000 reps of 1kg feels, if you can do it I’ll make a post just for you that says congratulations

No this shit is autistic. Volume is number of working sets

Your body has no idea what sets or reps you're doing. There's a lot of factors to muscle growth between blood flow, metabolic response, cns adaptation, etc. Beyond that too depending on your genes you may gain more from higher reps or lower reps. Depends on your fast/slow twitch composition.

Most people in the gym can't even deadlift 120 kgs with good form so what's the point

That was the midwit take. The real gains maker is time under tension, and why you gain more doing 3x8 than 8x3.

This. Best definition of volume. Simple as.

Actually 7 and 13 are the magic rep ranges, but this is FORBIDDEN knowledge, because the fitness industry wants to keep you down.
7 is a magic number. God created the world in 7 days. The pharao dreamed of 7 good years. You will build your muscles with 7 reps.
13 is the number of apostels + JESUS himself. 12 is incomplete it only becomes complete by the 13th rep. The rep for jesus.
