How do I get a V-taper?

How do I get a V-taper?

I've been lifting for awhile and have muscle mass but not a V-taper.
What would help to build that? My legs are really big and thick, is this holding me back?

From my experience v taper is more about low bodyfat than actual muscle (although muscle will definitely make it more noticeable). I have a strong v taper when I was 16 and super skinny before I even lifted but I was at like 10% bf
