is the twin snakes an acceptable way to play MGS1 for the first time?
Is the twin snakes an acceptable way to play MGS1 for the first time?
no, just play the original
it's the best way
I remember getting mad at Snake doing flips off missiles, now that I look back I don't know why. The latter games are full of shit so retarded I stopped playing them.
I played Twin Snakes before the PSX version and the original is still clearly superior. They butchered the music, the dub and the atmosphere which are the majority of what you play MGS1 for in the first place
THERE'S NEVER A FUCKING CIRCUMSTANCE where playing a remake or remaster in place of the original for your first time through is acceptable.
If you want to play a video game for the first time you better get as close to its original release as possible or you're doing yourself a disservice.
I did like 10 years ago and love MGS and never played the original. It's fine, MGS1 is just a very different game to what it became after MGS2.
Play the OG first if you can (personally I always play originals before remakes as a rule of thumb, that way I can understand and appreciate the differences)
>THERE'S NEVER A FUCKING CIRCUMSTANCE where playing a remake or remaster in place of the original for your first time through is acceptable.
you are autistic (your off-topic coomer image reveals this further)
Shut up faggot, every version of SM64 is acceptable as a first playthrough. Also Shadow of the Colossus on PS3 is superior to both the PS2 and PS4 remake by miles. Your brain is rotten.
To be fair, some older games are very archaic in their presentation and design and a decent remake makes them more accessible.
It doesn't really solve the main gameplay issues of the original while doing a hackjob on the graphics and voice acting. It's sort of improved as an mgs2 style stealth playground where you go out of your way to pointlessly fuck with guards but then you might as well just replay the tanker misson of 2.
>no true analog movement
you're not even subhuman you're monkey
playing sm64 with dpad controls is an abomination.
Yes but the original is better
Kojima loved it, I wouldn’t be surprised if it was his idea in the first place
>every version of SM64 is acceptable
No it isn't, if you deliberately play SM64 DS before the N64 version you are giving yourself a worse experience of that game.
>Also Shadow of the Colossus on PS3 is superior to both the PS2 and PS4
Super fucking wrong, you've clearly never played the PS2 game or you'd know the HD collection actually fucks up the controls due to the increased framerate, the PS4 doesn't have this issue but in turn it fucks up the visuals, meaning the original PS2 version of SotC is still the definitive way to play the game.
No
>Kojima loved it
He's a fucking idiot.
No. The original PSX atmosphere of MGS1 is one of it's best features. Twin Snakes is an abomination.
>the dub
The dub is terrible. It's such a sadness that the awful English voices are in all of the enhanced releases. All of the voices sound incredibly stupid and give the games a comedic tone that wasn't supposed to be there. Gray Fox, the coolest character, sounds like a stupid nigger in the dub.

Retarded opinions over d-pad controls. So fucking what? Who cares? You think some kid is going to give a shit because he doesn't have more precise movement with analog and instead has to settle on digital for his little handheld? You guys are elitist to a point of pure autism.
