I just started this game and can't get past the beast in the first chapter. I can look past most of the dated features, but even by 2007 standards the combat is dogshit and the fact that I can't lower the difficulty is absurd. I cannot get past the beast boss in chapter 1 so I guess my only option is to restart the game at a lower difficulty. A few things I find irritating about combat:
1. Hitboxes are off. I'm not even touching the fire and yet I start to burn 2. You can't use potions or eat food while moving, so by the time the animation finishes I have taken enough damage to negate the effect of the food I just ate. 3. Killing move animations take too long so you just end up taking a shit ton of damage during the animation. 4. Attack animations get interrupted if you take damage.
beast is unironically the hardest battle in the entire game, lel

Downgrade the game patch to where you can refund talents and then reapply them and also knock down the dog boss and instakill it. Can you truly call it eurojank experience if most of the bugs and exploits have been fixed?

There is a time skip and several cutscenes before the boss It's quite literally impossible to prepare for this boss fight, even if you knew it was coming which you have very little reason to do.

sounds like you just are bad at the game Beast is easiest boss in game, all you need is ard, some oil, and if you are scrub you can always drink some potions at the start of the combat. You did craft potions, right? You are not some shitter that walks around unprepared?

personaly act 3 always felt little weaker than act 2, because intrigue starts to focus on big politics, instead of more personal vandetta against salamander and search for traitor. But on act 4, 5 and epilogue i completly agree. Act 4 is especialy absolute kino

I only did the prologue and felt a little overwhelmed when the game dropped me at that tavern, I really have to go back to it. I've read all the books, but I was waiting to finish 1 to play 2 and 3.
