>retarded american cant stop for 30 seconds to read

I don't play video games to read

Ironic, considering your illiterate third world ass couldn't be bothered to read the OP.

>audiolog playing during combat
>audiolog has poor audio quality and static
>audiolog consists of whispering, crying and heavy breathing

Dishonored 2 has way too many fucking notes.
The game starts with escape from immediate mortal danger, but stops for a lore dump after every second guard.

>"They've taken the second hall... we're nearly out of ammo.....God they're everywhere!.... AHHHHHHHHHHH!!!" (End of log)

Lol.
If you know a better way to feed the player meandering, luke-warm exposition I'd like to hear it.

that kind of shit is okay in an open world game but not in an action or shooter game

The logs in Resident Evil 8 made me want to kill myself. So fucking egregious.

Honestly reading books in morrowind was my favourite way of learning my way around the map.
Notes and shit in games like thief are good too.
I wish more games would organically allow you to collect information via notes and journals to achieve your goals instead of just using them to dump exposition.

>You can't leave the menu while listening to audio tapes
>Have to stay in menu for minutes while you just want to play the game
>The lore in the audio tapes is necessary for understanding the story

Or

>The notes play automatically when you find them
>No subtitles
>The amount of background noice and effects makes it physically impossible to understand what the hell the speaker is saying
>If you leave the room/general area, the tape stops playing or another piece dialogue overlaps with the tape

In a game like TES it's not as bad since it's a nonlinear game and you can read lore-books for fun, if you feel like it. In linear games it's the worst kind of hamfisted exposition because the game doesn't know how to tell its own story well enough.

I love this shit every time

The difference is that MW has good writing.

>audio log doesn't play outside of menu
>audio log stops the second anything else happened
>audio log doesn't resume after interruption
>audio log doesn't stop for anything at all, and plays over absolutely everything

/uninstall

You think thats bad?
>journal entries take up a slot in your limited inventory

Fucking barotrauma...

you can just not listen to them

darkest dungeon

I don't read them, this kind of shit is made to inflate your gameplay time.
>wow dude check this I spent 100 hours on this game
>game is actually 20 hours with 80 hours spent on reading
