Does "voting with your wallet" even works?

Does "voting with your wallet" even works?

I keep skipping bad games, yet they keep making them.

Not with paid shills.

only for the small guys, marketing can brute force people into buying.

Voting with your wallet only works in one direction, to support something you enjoy.

It doesn't work in the reverse, ie you cannot abstain from voting with your wallet and make a difference unless done en masse. All it takes is some retarded whale with more money than taste to completely nullify your "vote" by buying twice or buying the special edition etc

Non mainstream games, it does.
The average cookie cutter AAA blockbuster no

...

gem

No it doesn’t. The only thing that came close was the microtransaction thing a few years back but now they’re more prevalent than ever

/Thread

why does it matter

things that you don't like are allowed to exist

yet you're probably against murder and theft

For big mass market games you have to vote with your wallet at the gun store so you can then vote with your bullets which will have a much bigger impact

PLA is a mistake, and the shills need to die.

>Does "voting with your wallet" even works?
No, it doesn't. For every purchase you don't make there's 1000 zoomers, trannies and soibois that will gladly make that purchase. Meanwhile you buying Japanese games won't stop their game industry from crumbling and turning into gacha NFT shit.

Lmfaooooo this one is perfect.

Not unless other people agree with you. If a vocal minority refuses to buy a game for whatever reason (censorship, for instance), nobody's going to miss their money if the game still panders to the majority.

This. Besides, in the modern day, even if no one buys a product, the companies can still be kept alive by outside influence.

By the time anyone has ANY reason to utter the phrase "vote with your wallet", it's already too late

lol they have a ton to gain from getting the world back to normal. zero to gain from shizos that deny any responsibility in keeping society functioning smoothly despite society being the only reason they ever had a chance in life

If it's a bad game, then why do you act like you're resisting the temptation of buying it by "boycotting" it?

something something SRI bucks

that motherfucker probably visits Any Forums now

Do simps really?

yes the new pokemon game is the equivalent to murder, this is a good comparison

>Does "voting with your wallet" even works?
Yes.
>I keep skipping bad games, yet they keep making them.
That's because the majority keeps buying them, voting with their wallets.
That is how democracy works.
Now, you might not like the outcome, or even how it actually works, but it does work.
If you want to change this, you either have to change how the majority vote, or create a new system that gives you what you want, despite of what the majority wants.

You can tell that this is an schizo for not only using chads for religious cuck ( which misses the entire point of the meme ) but not including right wing politicians too

It's not about not wanting bad things to exist. It's about sending a message to companies that certain practices are unacceptable. Like how every major publisher releases a half finished game and then sends out a 60gb patch one day later.

Voting with your wallet doesn't work because hyper consumerism is rampant. Nobody has any self control. People don't know how to say "no". They have to have new shiny thing because it's what everyone else wants. It's herd mentality.

Why does putting a piece of cloth over their face scare americans so much

Francisco Franco lost tho

Voting with your wallet only works if there is a limit to how much any one person can spend, such as when buying a game. If there are options to pour as much money as you want into something, such as loot boxes and gachas, then the "votes" no longer matter.

And Portugal is still a third world shit hole living from EU gibs.

What strange universe are you in where Anthem 2 got made?
Also post your games collection so we can judge whether you've been buying good or bad games. I bet you have every CoD made in the last 10 years.

I want to laugh at this, but it just makes me really sad.

In a sense that you save money and time not buying and playing - it works.

good ol' esg investing being one of those
