Fun but no need to ever buy more than one game in the series since its nothing but reused levels.

takahashi only reluctantly agreed to make the first sequel since it was happening with or without his input (he left namco not much after its release), but it did add some much-needed physics and controls improvements, tighter level design and a few cool twists on the concept

everything after that was just namco milking the cow dry

Fantastic. Very few games create a truly original mechanic and Katamari was one of them.
The second one was great but since then it's been a bit shit how they milked the formula.
