I haven’t played a YGO game since the GBC, when the anime was focused on a duelist island and pic related wasn’t banned. Can I get into Master Duelist if I’m an oldfag? Like, is there a mode for seasons 1-3 YGO when blue eyes and dark magician were top tier?

>Like, is there a mode for seasons 1-3 YGO
there were leaks that they were going to make different formats for the different eras of the game. I think the game is fun as it is though so you should give it a try.
>when blue eyes and dark magician were top tier?
that was only like 2-3 sets when the game first started.

They weren't even top tier back then. The only "two tribute vanilla beatdown" meta was before Legend of Blue-Eyes, where Gaia was the strongest two tribute.
The earliest TCG meta was Summoned Skull beatdown, and the only two tribute that saw play early on didn't come in Legend of Blue-Eyes, but a little later - Sanga of the Thunder.

Were they ever top tier in the early years? I've never played Yugioh competitively, but the lack of special summoning and both requiring two tributes seem enough to make them borderline unplayable. Just fucking send out Judge Man and give him some unga with Stim Pack or whatever.

You want to know how old I’m talking about? Last time I played competitive YGO God cards were just released (all three sucked) and the card I remember hating the most was some space crow thing that prevented me from drawing if it attacked me directly. I like YGO the concept but I don’t want to spend five minutes reading an effect. Don’t even know what the fuck linking is.

No retard, your no effect monster deck with fusion summons will not beat a modern roided powercrept to the asshole Xyz/pendulum/cynchro/link deck that can summon 12 monsters in 1 turn. This game is the definition of powercreep... and that's what makes it fun. Ive been having a blast figuring out how hard this game's been fucked sideways to absurdity

Ah, you're talking Yata Lock format.
They banned Yata-Garasu, that space bird can't be run anymore. You might like True Dracos - they're an archetype (think something like Toons or Gravekeepers or Amazons) that can tribute spells/traps for their tribute summons, and run a bunch of traps that turn off more modern game mechanics so you can ignore your opponents' card text.

>Don’t even know what the fuck linking is.
sacrifice monsters equal to the link rating of the link monster to summon it. If you sacrifice a link monster then the amount of sacrifices it counts for can be 1 or it's link rating.
Ex: use 2 monsters to make a Link-2 monsters, use that link-2 monster and one other monster to make a link-3 monster.

>Can I get into Master Duelist if I’m an oldfag?

You can, but you'll never get far. Good thing there's Solo Mode.

Thanks user, might look into those deck types and see. Even if it sounds like i’m bitching (I am), I do enjoy remembering going to in person tournaments and playing for fun. Just hope this game gives me that nostalgia high.

just build an eldlich deck and become a goldchad
it's fun, easy, and makes nerds seethe

Eldlich, Monarch, Gren Maju Da Eiza, Chain Burn, and Inspector Boarder/Barrier Statue Stun are more decks that don't need to rely on modern mechanics, and mostly try to ignore/disable the opponent's cards while slowing the game down.

Any tips for making Toon decks more consistent? I'll take anything because they're fun to play when I don't brick my first turn.

Post list

I took this a bit earlier, use pot of extravagance now.

How often do you use your Normal? Royal Magical Library will, at worst, eat a disruption, but can easily get you a couple draws for free.

No thanks. I'll just stick to my obscure ftk/otk decks and treasure the moments when they work

Oh, that's a good idea. I'll roll with that.

Lord of D + Flute of Summoning Dragon could get Blue Eyes out. Also shit like Change of Heart or Soul Exchange could do some work as well. I think Blue Eyes was usable but probably never top tier in the early days. Dark Magician was completely useless until it got way more support.

Exodia, 1800atk beatsticks (La Jin, 7 Colored Fish, and I think one more before MechanicalChaser and Gemini Elf obsoleted them) + Summoned Skull, and I think maybe some variety of burn decks were what I remember being meta way back in the day.

why is the lobby system so jank? can't even filter by rank "gold only" etc.

Hope these events include like structure deck only and of course old formats to incentivise getting more cards.

The meta is gross. People talk about breaking boards through 10 negates and immunity but the real problem is that even if you do, you need to be able to set up and OTK or meta decks can build another bullshit board off 1 or two cards in their hand or just shit in the graveyard.

I'm playing a jank danger darkworld deck, this is around what I think the power level of modern yugioh should be ( although the actual gameplay is scummy) If I don't go second I pretty much lose (unless I maybe get to a usable nibiru or max C) if I get bad RNG I lose, if you break my board once I lose, if you have a hard counter like stuff that prevents discards by banishing I lose, and obviously if I brick I lose.

I'm really disliking how there is never really any top decking scramble if we are both low on cards after the initial two turns. It should be exciting but instead it's just the same endless cardadvantage nonsense. I seriously dont know if it's even possible for some of these decks to overextend.

my only backrow removal is Tornado Dragon :(

It's all about perspective. I really enjoyed Eldlich when he was featured in the Master Duel Shiranui loaner deck, now I don't care if I'm a meta whore or not.
Just love my gold boy, and mixed him with a fun older vampire deck.

it's also sad how the immediate reaction when you see the rank is not "this guy is good or bad" but just a power level gauge of their deck.

Really need more ranks than platinum. playing fucking speed duels were alot more competitive than this, lots of deck knowledge, mind games and specific counters put in. Here everyone just goes through their flowchart and the better/ luckier deck wins.

Blue Eyes was much harder to get onto the field than Summoned Skull, but a successful summon would put the opponent in a "draw removal or die" position.

Also consider Upstart and Into the Void, especially if you pack RML.

Has anyone drawn into Exodia from Maxx C yet?

"Old school" player always talk about what they were doing in their casual schoolyard decks and and think that was the actual meta back then. The real meta back when was you loaded up on 4 star monsters and spells to remove your opponents monsters, and prayed for a good hand

Are you willing to learn? If not, obviously no.

As someone who collected everything up until SOD was the newest release and kept watching the anime until the 3rd episode of 5DS (still shit, mostly because Synchros are, with the exception of Black Rose Dragon which is cool) and then returned 3 years ago when LED4 was the newest release, updating my old Dark Magician deck was one of the most fun things I've done in a long time and in the process and since I've continuously devoured more and more knowledge on the game for the years I was missing.

It has it's issues just as the past did but despite the ~15 year gap the modern game is definitely more fun than it used to be, in my opinion.

But, again, willingness to learn is the most important factor. Either that or you're going to have to have a willingness to accept you won't be winning as much as you might like.

I mean, I faced pic related in mid gold tiers so clearly some people are just going to keep playing what they like no matter when it's from and somehow getting somewhere.

Attached: 1626123540704.jpg (1280x720, 261.99K)

Summoned Skull and Sanga were both MRD. Skull Red Bird was the first meta king.

Not OP, but what are the most fun to play or the more interesting decks you played with or against?

Master Duelist is okay if you are on PS4 and can turn crossplay off. Otherwise you are stuck in 45 minute long games with Japanese players who run the clock as much as humanly possible at all times. Like I am beginning to legit believe it is a strategy they have to get wins in Platinum III-I. I think they think that if they take as much time as humanly possible people will just surrender and end the match out of sheer mind numbing boredom.

Yugioh Master Duel has done more in one week to make me hate Japan than six years of vtuber autism has.

Does it matter which starter deck you start with?

Link, Syncho, and Xyz decks are pure cancer. Just endless flipping cards for no appreciable gain. They are literally the entire meta right now. Main phase 1 for half an hour then do NOTHING. Bros can literally WIN THE GAME with the ATK points they have on the field, and even if you got NOTHING they will still fucking link their full combo dicks off.

I play a Blue-Eyes deck with veeeeery limited number of Syncho cards in my extra deck (2). It is really fun and carried me to Plat III until the Jap catassers started countering me with meta and I ended up dropping down to Plat IV where I am stuck right now.

This deck will get you to Platinum tier undefeated. Getting to Plat V means you will get 2300 from crystals when this season ends tomorrow. You can rank up in one day provided you don't run across too many Japanese players with their autism decks.

Attached: test deck.jpg (659x750, 228.08K)

You sound bad.

Depends. Your starter deck has free SR and UR cards in it. If you plan to build a deck around those cards than yeah, getting them for free and not having to grind crystals will save you a lot of time.

Thanks for the tips. Should I look up specific deck builds or just watch a bunch of videos showing people playing and seeing what clicks with me?

I'd like to try either dragonmaids or one of the cheaper top tier meta decks, would any of those SR/UR cards see any play in those type of decks?

Considering that the last time you played the game was (supposedly) almost 20 years ago, if you go into the game with a clean slate rather than expecting things to play out like the outdated anime, you'll do just fine. If you don't go in with an open mind, you'll just get clapped and it'll leave the taste of shit in your mouth.

I'm in pretty much the same boat and bought legacy of the duelist.
I'm having fun so far.

knightmare cerberus and phoenix, missus radiant, hip hoshiningen, witch apprentice, defender of the labyrinth, underclock taker, duelittle chimera, vampire sucker, charmer link monsters, psy-framelord lambda, artifact dagda, mistar boy, akashic magician

Double headed anger knuckle is a recurring link-2 machine, especially useful in rank 10 decks since it lets him tag out to dodge effects.
Ancient gear ballista works in earth machine decks if you want to be able to fill your hand with material for summons or tributes but requires some bricks.
Barricadeborg Blocker lets you discard to recover a field spell or continuous spell for next turn.
That's it. There's no other generic link-2 machines that aren't UR.

Once you play a few matches you won't be anxious, you'll be doompilled when you see their first archetype card is some absolute bullshit or you'll be hype when you draw a godhand and know you are going to win

Sky Strikers is unironically far too high IQ for nearly its entire playerbase. They have no idea how to play the deck and it makes my blood boil.

Just pretend everyone is a bot. Not like you can interact with them anyway.

Do it just like an exercise goal, start small (3 games a day, let's say) and force yourself to just do that, and stay consistent. Slowly creep the number up, and resist the urge to move the number down.
If you want to stop after hitting the goal for the day, stop, and if you want to keep going, keep going until you feel done, just always hit the minimum.
Most PvP anxiety revolves around losing, and the best way to deal with this type of anxiety is exposure therapy, aka you need to experience losing until it becomes psychologically accepted.

Bros, where can YGO go in the future?

How can it get more powerful than current archetypes? Will they add a new card type or new rulings? I literally don't know how they can make something more powerful than the absurd NEGATE EVERYTHING CANT BE DESTROYED BY ANYTHING cards that exist now

bro you just dump cards and manage a single resource, its not hard at all

Attached: 1629354773095.png (542x771, 17.98K)

force yourself to play until the anxiety goes away, it takes a while but it gets easier with each game
also half the people youll be up against probably dont even speak english and will instantly forget about you once the game ends unless you do some real funny shit
remember lose is improve

damn, we got a farfa viewer on here

As someone who doesn't play meta at all, how do I get started building something to keep up with higher tiers? Without just ripping some online deck wholesale, of course. I don't want to be some mindless meta drone, but if it can rake in more competitive rewards for decks that are more fun, I'd at least like to be on the same playing field.

There's plenty of room for where it can go. You're just too new to understand the design space for the game.

>Droplet, Superpoly
cant it negate both of those?

I know what you mean, if the game goes past turn 5, striker players have 0 clue what to do with their turn since they can't hayate>shizuku and call it a day. They'll panic make zeke, fuck something up, and lose the game, it's pathetic.

Learn a viable rogue strategy to interact with more meta-game strategies. You’ll face those more big-name meta decks and combo packages, their outs, and what makes them so good. You’ll learn your way into some of the decisions at critical points and how to pilot a deck with more recursion and overall impact,

I always save those duels and kek at them later. Dumbasses building a whole field with no non-target protection

Do they really not consider a Nibiru/Raigeki/Dark Hole? The cards that literally everyone runs?

Read the cards

Look at the decks that are more common/meta, learn how they play, figure out what makes them fold immediately if they don't have an out or what they really hate to see, and consider how much of that you want to add to your deck while keeping the card count low so you're still able to do what your deck wants to do.

consistency cards like the pots and relevant handtrap selection can boost most decks to a decent level
A lot of decks also have good generic support for the type/attribute most commonly used in an archetype (see all the bewd decks with generic dragon good stuff) that may get overlooked

Nothing can respond to either of those cards (assuming you send the right cards for droplet), so no herald can't stop it.

also this is the most degenerate card i have seen, there is literally no response to this being summoned on your turn
i cant believe more decks arent trying to turbo out this card

Attached: 1635685138338.png (300x441, 294.15K)

Because the playerbase is extremely low IQ, so all they know how to do is Eldlich set 5 pass. Occasionally you might see a Drytron player slowly following a Youtube combo guide for turn 1 Ultimateness.

are they not spell and trap cards?

They LITERALLY state that your opponent can't activate cards or effects in response to their activation.

If you read them, you might figure out why those cards are particularly useful.

>droplet
whats the whole name of the card?

Except that they can't play the cards they're given to save their lives. Sky Strikers has a ridiculously high skill floor and it shows.

This is exactly why TCG simulators shouldn't be giving entire decks away for free. These mouthbreathers don't deserve these cards. There better be a hard reset for season 2.

It's a UR, by the way.

based

Attached: IMG_20200407_193501.jpg (459x441, 33.6K)

Those decks with intricate combos require both much more luck and skill than other decks. The way the decks are built means lots of hands do not make the ideal end boards or can't play through certain negates, and also require you to know HOW to get to that end board if you are able to combo. An easy and consistent like normal summon Aleister is just better for most people.

That seems like a good idea, sticking with a minimum match goal and gradually increasing.

True, I just worry about wasting people's time because I'm very much still learning everything and I like stopping to read the cards to see what card does what. I've really enjoyed learning about all the different playstyles & effects but it unfortunately sinks another person's time in ranked

Attached: 1560832347179.gif (400x300, 599.83K)

All they need to do to cripple solitaire faggotry is arch types that can affect your extra deck or gain power per special summon during a turn.
Like imagine Nibiru but an entire arch type that just keeps gaining power as you special summon.

read the fucking cards

Don't worry about wasting people's time. They are GUARANTEED to waste yours, either because they haven't read their cards either or because they're playing solitaire.

>start game
>opponent has a card that summons itself
>when it summons itself it summons something else
>when it's destroyed it has an effect
>when it's in the graveyard it has an effect

Seriously fuck off, how does anyone keep all this shit straight

They make cards like these and then make a card that when it's summoned you can lower it's level by 1 or some shit

>Someone posts about what they do in response to this card in order to counter them in their own experience
>Assume they're retarded and it doesn't actually work without looking at the cards yourself

How does this not negate a Kaiju?

Salty yugiboomer here, the only fun to be had is summoning big rock boy on these 10 summons per turn fags. Always a good time guaranteed

If they pressed the matchmaking button, they consented to the full match, whether you're fast or slow. Due to how rankings work, you're probably playing with similarly inexperienced players or retards, so giving them time to read your cards is probably good for them.

>Start re-learning yugioh during lockdown shit in 2020 because why not

Kaijus tribute first, then special summon
It can't negate anything because it's not on the field anymore

There used to be an unspoken rule about not spoonfeeding on this website. I put the cereal in your mouth already, I can't be expected to chew for you too.

Whats stopping me from running an anti-spell/skill drain deck with high ATK/DEF normal monsters and equip spells only on these meta nerds?

I'm plat 3 and I've literally only seen one single person play pendulums

They p summoned 3 guys on their first turn, I negated them all with one card, and he quit

I don't know if they're viable or not but that was the one and only time I've seen someone pendulum summon and they got absolutely fucked by a common staple

Tri Brigade is degenerate.
Just thrash their graveyard. CBtG, DD Crow, Gravedigger trap hole, Ash Blastumz, Ghost Belle, anything that banishes or negates their trash.

Just stop caring about it.

Attached: 1614814007418.webm (480x360, 2.6M)

Tribute summoning uses monsters as a cost. Kaijus special summon themselves to your opponent's field using their monsters as the cost.

Nothing, though I'd recommend barrier statues and other stun monsters over skill drain+normals. It'd stop those hand effect special summons and such.

The fact that everyone runs picrel and Harpie's Feather Duster, mainly because Eldlich runs skill drain

>that was only like 2-3 sets when the game first started.

Phantasm Spiral is for you.

You're right, instead, he just said what to do to kill Herald.

I can start a room to get your foot in the door if you're that nervous or want some time to work out your card effects.

anti-spell fucks you over too if you're equiping, there are gy effects that can help clear floodgates, if the floodgates come down you lose, they can also make big monsters from the extra deck, eldlich will own your ass faster than you can say "I tribute summon Blue Eyes White Dragon"

>finally, ever since md dropped, finally ran into another numeron chad

I’m having too much fun playing solo and experimenting in pvp with pet decks.

The same reason you can't stop posting it in every thread you dumb troon.

think about it and come back with a good argument

even stronger now with new banlist kek.
enjoy golden supreme for months user.

D/D/D

If your entire deck revolves around a gimmick like that that isn't even easy to cheat out like a Majesty's Jinzo setup then you're just gonna get spanked every duel and look like an idiot while it happens.

The learning curve gets worse with keywords, not better. Every Yugioh card tells you exactly what it does in it's text, all you have to do is READ

am I supposed to give a damn your board sucks?

Just got the game, stuck between deciding if I want to make a Jar deck or if I want to make a random chance deck out of coin toss and dice roll cards. Anyone got a suggestion?
I'm not playing to win, I'm playing for fun.

>run deck with ace monster that cant be destroyed by battle or be targeted for card effects and just barely stronger then Eldlich atk
>clearly i won after using all my resources
>proceeds to try and stall/deck me out
I hate this

You cared enough about my potential board state to piss and shit your pants in fear of running anything that wasn't meta.

>bait their ammo
>wipe their field
>all they do is set and pass
>call the bluff every time and swing into some kind of reversal every time instead of link chaining
I'm starting to get to the point where I want to loop summons out of spite.

Jar is funnier when it resolves so I'd say that

Because at their core, beneath all their actual unique mechanics, every and all meta decks work because they're the most reliable at getting their ball rolling and keeping the momentum before you can, whether they start rolling faster or outright keep you from doing so. Gimmick or specialized decks might be able to deal with them, but due to their very nature most of the time they'll fall apart as soon as anything goes off the rails. If they didn't do that, then it wouldn't be a gimmick deck, it would also be meta.

The games can get really grindy but I've generally done well against eldlich with true draco

>respecting another yugioh players time ever

just play like its single player and take as much time as you need, if you rush yourself youll just misplay and feel worse for it

I've been having a lot of fun with Kozmo. Too bad you can't splash literally anything into it because it's such a tight engine that drawing non-Kozmo cards fucks you over.

It only got enabled in the TCG when Brothers of Legend released Astral Kuriboh and Right-Hand Shark

You did build a cheap lp gain deck for those free 400 gems right user?

I'm sorry, but there's no better feeling than being in control.

Good luck

>don't get me started on literally the only mechanic in the games history with a resource cost

xys are probably my favorites of the extra special summons, they're actually designed well and make sense.
Match stars to summon and those cards used are how many times you can use its effect.

Nigger, I'm not even that guy but where did it say he lost? This is supposed to be a multiplayer game, not interdimensional solitaire.

i dont like cards that take up my time

I actually like the trains. Gaining 2000 atk or giving 2000 damage is fine.

crystron would be my guess
then you can run halqifibrax and be a cool kid

This game really needs to take the keyword idea from MtG and tidy up card text across the board.
Too many cards have bad punctuation and oversimplified grammar that it it loops the card back to being complex.

There were a few cards like that earlier in the game, Castle of Dark Illusion, Reaper of the Cards... But also, 251 is a prime number. In the manga it had 2501 attack.

I don't get Tri-Brigade
>card has effect on hand
>card has effect on field
>card also has effect on graveyard
>card even has effect during opponent's turn
>card supports multiple monster types

I should have stated modern cards but yeah OG cards are a fucking meme with the random values.

>opponents endboard is 6k atk arrival cyberse and nothing else

The summoning mechanics make sense no doubt but the effects are op and their conditions are always the same and very easy to activate. For example other monsters might for you to have certain type of cards in your hand and send them to the graveyard if you want to negate an effect. Some tells you to banish a monster from the graveyard. You actually have to do something in return.
Detaching a monster is literally nothing, you don't lose anything because the monster wasn't usable to begin with and it going to the graveyard instead of being an attachment is actually better because you can summon it again somehow.
Detaching to active broken effects is a win win situation you aren't giving anything in return like alot of other fusion, link and Synchro monster.

Attached: 1627510544550.png (400x600, 9.39K)

noone would actually play this shit outside of simulators because you'd get insanely bored very fast irl or it'd get your ass kicked at locals

Burn from the sound of it

Imo the only bullshit about xyz are the ones that say you can use a rank 4 instead of doing an xyz. At that point there's no cost and you're just climbing to a stronger monster for free.

How do you guys make fast webms of replays?

Xyz are just degenerate because xyz mats were supposed to be ammo for xyz monsters, but their effects are so cancer that you only ever need to resolve them once to win. Shit like shockmaster and zenmaity warped the game nearly instantly.

>not filling the board with xys as a wincon

Remake your deck so it has less dead draws :^)

Yeah, fuck that. He bricked but I had 100 LP left when I won. Is there any good backrow destruction for VW? Should I throw in a feather duster?

>bad punctuation

Will I become schizophrenic if I play D/D/D?

Attached: 1633253208690.jpg (751x1049, 141.09K)

VW doesn't have spell negation. It's unironically one of the archetypes major weaknesses that they get absolutely fucking mogged by backrow.
Well, not unless you count crystal wing, but that's not really a VW card it's just what you summon using Ultimaya.

Is this Shiranui deck you unlock in the solo play any good? I like the aesthetic but wondering if it's a failed/abandoned archtype

>make Draglubion with Astral Kuriboh
>that ever so amusing moment when they take hours to realize it can't be destroyed

Attached: draglub.png (1595x901, 3.1M)

I read that card as 'Ratboy Genius' upon first reading. Now I want a Ratboy Genius archetype with a Little King John card that lets you remove from play cards at will.

It's an okay archetype that's only used inside of other more successful zombie strategies.

I have extreme doubt that people have considered every single option.
It's like when you look at other competitive games. You have a meta and then some fag figures out something that breaks it and shit is drastically changed.
The meta isn't mathematically proven most of the time, it's just popular perception.

But I'm probably wrong, the so called "sweaties" with their encyclopedia knowledge of the game have probably considered every option.

Doesn't Crystal Wing only negate monster effects? It died to the same dark hole as the rest of their board.

Shockmaster was just bad card design and it's never coming off the ban list. Looping bs like carrier has been around forever and always gets banned. Neither cards point to a problem with the xyz mechanic.

QQ cry some more

Attached: CyberInfinite.png (598x875, 1.18M)

I hope you only topdeck useless handtraps

no, but youll become 300% more based

shiranui is just a zombie support type, it has nothing going for it as a pure archtype

Actually good point I take that back.
VW has no backrow negation full stop.
It became meta based on it's recursion, removal and monster effect negation options.

If they did consider all options though...wouldn't that mean we are screwed? They could've already won if they had thought about everything beforehand!
We can still win in theory but there aren't enough players to make up for our lack of skill, even considering how much better everyone else seems compared to us. It wouldn't be an impossible task either because there would only need to be one or two more wins on top of what we currently hold. The problem lies within our inability to coordinate well together as a team; it's been my biggest gripe since day 1. We don't seem capable of communicating effectively during battles which makes fighting against competent teams very difficult. If this was any other game where communication wasn't such a necessity then things might not go as badly as they do now but unfortunately teamwork plays a large part here and without it we will never succeed.
This means we'll likely end up being stuck playing ranked matches forever until we get good enough to beat them. And while getting better sounds great in theory it doesn't help me right now because I am terrible.

I wanna make a Watt deck for the aesthetic but they don't seem viable at all

Attached: Wattchimera-DREV-EN-UR-1E.jpg (300x438, 54.42K)

no, only an appreciation for nice chairs.

I kinda gets that Xyz monster should have strong individual effect, since they don't send all their mats immediately so they generally have to go for protect the castle strat and their effects have limited uses. Anything above rank 4 or not able to sit on a rank 4 are also limited by the levels needed being hard to get
Not to say things like Shock Master or Lavalval Chain don't go too far though. Also Zoodiac pretty much destroys the whole concept

If you're playing vw then you got what you deserved.

xyz overlaying on top of themselves constantly for free benefits is what makes it cancer. Synchros and links never get to tag themselves out for more shit from ED yet the entire zoodiac archtype exists and can overlay straight into zeus.

Do you guys think they'll ever add tag duels? That was my favorite feature on YGOPRO

Fuck off. The use of periods and commas on some cards is outright awful and should get the translator and proofreader fired.

>idlechad a gook for 45 minutes
>surrender on the last turn

theres a good chance but it might be relegated to cross duel.

>Synchros and links never get to tag themselves out for more shit from ED

Any Number XYZ Monster made from 2 level 8s that has an easy Monster Negate?

You seem to be vastly underestimating links while ignoring large sections of the games recent history. In the case of xyz zoos are the exception not the rule.

Felgrand

>synchros never get to tag themselves out
Yeah because the tuners do that instead

Is mirror force launcher worth considering if you're running multiple mirror force? How many if so? Seems like a mini-metaverse for that card that'll set up my defense if popped early.

Attached: 1634152463477.gif (700x400, 1.88M)

despite a inks being forced meta by konami for most of vrains era, zoodiacs continue to be more degenerate than all of them combined and continue to get hits 5 years later.

Tell me about Zombie decks. Is Eldlich a zombie deck?

>monster reborns

Probably Virtual World. Windwitch is also an option if you want.

Why is the mobile port still not out yet?

Yes because its monsters are all zombies, but no because its really just a trap deck disguised as a zombie deck

Are you dense? Or are you just baiting?

its out in certain countries (i.e. all countries provided you are not a retard)

I would dump vanilla mirror force and use a non-destruction variant.

ran out of UR juice again

the mobile port is so badly optimized it kills a normal phone battery after 5 (FIVE) duels. They only released it in select regions to beta test it.

I did too
Hopefully we get some from the end of season rewards

Haha hahahaha HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

Restrict is great against Eldlich as long as they don't run Skill Drain.
Really, the best answer to Eldlich is to just go first and get a ton of negates up or go second and OTK with Red Reboot.

Heres my Restrict list. Heres the basic combo you do.
>If you draw Versago/King of the Swamp and Tourguide
>Tour Guide into Graff, XYZ both into Dante, Detach Graff to mill 3, Graff in the graveyard into Cir from deck, Link both into Verte, Cir into a Dante resummon, Dante to add back Graff, Beatrice ontop of Dante using the Graff, Verte for Restrict using Versago from hand.
>On your opponents turn, send your choice of Idol, Illusionist or Magician with Beatrice using its quick effect.

>If you just draw Tour Guide.
>Tour Guide into Graff, Link into Cherubini, Linked-Graff into Skarm, use Cherubini to mill Versago, Link both into Verte, Verte into Restrict, end of turn add Tour Guide.

>Opponent is playing BEWD
>In Platinum
Well, I mean thanks for the free win my dude, good try. Maybe make a real deck from now on though.

Are you blind? Holy shit you're literally retarded, that's not even considering all the cards that have been hit because of links and synchros. Or that links are only 6 years old.

>Restrict is great against Eldlich as long as they don't run Skill Drain.
An eldlich deck with skill drain doesn't exist

AAAIIIEEE LIEBE-SAMA I KNEEL

Not wrong
Why I scoop every time I fight an Eldlich player, Skill Drain isn't fun to play against.

respondable boardwipe

Attached: AccesscodeTalker-MGED-EN-PGR-1E.png (684x1003, 1.2M)

Literally every single ranked game I’ve had I’ve gotten an absolutely terrible starting hand, and in 90% of ranked games my opponent gets a god hand and sets up something impossible to overcome with my hand. It doesn’t help that in the 150 ranked games I’ve played I’ve won the coin flip about 8 times, so even if I got a decent starting hand I can’t capitalise on it anyway. Meanwhile in casual games I fucking always win the coin flip and I get a starting hand that lets me swarm the field with a bajillion special summoned assholes with countless negates all on the first turn. My luck in ranked has been absolute dogshit for so long I’m convinced that half of these assholes are using cheat engine to see my cards or something, when I go against a very meta deck in casual play I can win like 50% of the time but I’m ranked itself everything conspires against me and regardless of deck I get absolutely fucked on by RNG.

you can hit Accesscode with any quick effect, whereas there is nothing you can do once zeus is on board without a hard negate.

just use crooked cook exodia, if they're not playing sky strikers and they don't have kaiju you win

is there a v lobby up?

And yet the Xyz list is still longer than any other section on the ED banlist, and it has been that way for twice links life cycle.

What’s a good anti meta deck to build? I’m thinking Kaijus but I have no idea what other archetypes/generics to use with them.

Gokipole OTK, all the cards are rare and common.

would it really be suicide to make a 60 card odd eyes deck? i want card removal and the deck searches it self pretty well

Stop trying to argue with these people, they've invested too much time into this to admit that there are just some awful mechanics present.

DM was literally never top tier solely because Summoned Skull is literally DM but better. BE is a better beatstick but even then it's still a pretty big sunk cost just for that.
Are yugioh boomers fucking retarded and don't even remember what the game was actually like back then?

Attached: Gaim bed.jpg (1277x715, 256.64K)

In the past 3 years alone links have gotten so many cards banned it's insane.
user you've gotten your (you)s, you've outed yourself as a blind retard, and you've shown an intense misunderstanding of the games history. Maybe it's time to stop?

>Gokipole OTK
Got a list? I have way too many common and rare points

>opponent maxx c's me
>draws 10-12 cards total
>effect veilers me

60 card decks are actually a good rogue option due to "That Grass Looks Greener" being at 3.
For Blue Eyes I wouldn't recommend it though.

Pure Kaijus is unfortunately not very good at all, but they do pair well with other decks like graydles and work as splashable tech.

>every deck played in ranks above the gold floor have the same 20 card combination of traps/spells/handtraps
it's getting old already bros. can maxx c just be banned please?

Spoken like someone who sunk too much time into this

Use the stone that can trib itself for red eyes toon from the deck, remove some of the shittier toons like sorc and elf, always table-bookmark-kingdom instead of table-kingdom to get the 1time destruction protection

>one of them is actually sky striker

If you can't deal with maxx c that's on you.

Just wait for the casual MM.

Actually, my deck is a troll deck made entirely of trap cards that has no win condition, I run it whenever the game gives me that dumb "Play 5 traps in ranked" mission because even though I lose a game, it lets me just get the mission out of the way. The entire deck is stall, removal and stealing effects, I actually stole the other guy's Eldlich at one point. Still lost but it's funny fucking with someone with a deck that literally can't win with the exclusive goal of wasting the other player's time in Plat.

6 with any combination of dullahan, alucard, or socuteboss.

"Back then" for most of them was half the rules at school.

I legitimately don't get people like you because you're wasting your own time as well. If what you were doing was one-sided, then sure, I can see where you're coming from but as is it seems destructive to both of you.

Fucking with people who are playing seriously is funny to me.

based

The basic "core" is..
>Shiny Black "C" Squadder
>Gokipole
>Giant Ballpark
>Terraforming

Idea is that you use giant ballpark to summon three dudes, then swing for game off of the extra 6000 attack damage.
Highly recommend at least two Picofalena, they are really important as they shuffle your Squadder back into the deck, and Gokipole's effect activates if you equip it to a monster, then link it away.

Linkspam is a pretty good way to play the deck, but the core of it is pretty good for just monster mash bap bap.

>tfw play Chaos Max deck cause I’m too stupid to play anything more complicated than unga bunga

Should I build traptrix, burning abyss or frightfur?

The cards in traptrix can convert into a lot of other trap decks, so you'd get the most value from them, though they're pretty weak right now. Go with them if you already like playing control.
Frightfurs on the other hand are a lot of fun but really high commitment to build and learn properly. If you like combo, these guys are probably still worth it.

Why is the switch version such TRASH. I just wanna duel in bed.

>Pure Kaiju's isn't really good at all
What are they even about?

Exactly what you'd expect
>I GIVE YOU BIG MONSTER THEN I GET BIG MONSTER AND WE FIGHT BUT I ALWAYS WIN AND I HAVE COUNTERS ON MY CARDS SO YOU KNOW IT'S A GOOD WELL DESIGNED DECK
It's a deck designed for complete faggots that don't want to interact with the opponent's deck at all, but it's very bad at accomplishing that outside of Slumber which is still a really strong card.

They have a field and continuous cards that accumulate Kaiju Counters, then Kaiju monsters can use Kaiju Counters from anywhere on the field to activate their monster effects, so when you give your opponent a kaiju, they also have access to their abilities. The weaker Kaijus generally have stronger abilities, so it's a fairly interesting game that you force your opponent to participate in. It's literally spell counters but cool monsters doing stupid smackdown.

I hate the 5head goblin so fucking much.

Attached: FKVYsNIakAEMQfj.jpg (900x1019, 254.58K)

Replace your opponent's monster with a big kaiju, summon your own big kaiju, they fight, setup for next fight scene in your kaiju movie.

Why does Konami hate this monster so much?

Attached: RedEyesBDragon-TF05-JP-VG.jpg (250x250, 21.3K)

They have so many archetype cards that they don't really run any generic machine stuff outside of the occasional limiter removal. They fusion summon either huge beaters that stop cards from activating, huge beaters that float into said huge beaters, or a funny little gun dog that's immune to everything AND floats into huge beaters.

If they made Red-Eyes good it would lose its POTENTIAL, so it must always be bad

make a new steam account and dont fuck it up this time

he thinks you have hand traps

>is there a mode for seasons 1-3 YGO
Might be cool even just for nostalgia. Though as a fellow oldfag who's been playing since the start, I'd much rather see a 5D's generation. I think that synchro-focused era was the most fun, though the modern stuff is still pretty good.

Attached: 1640085487805.jpg (750x821, 276.49K)

that leak of restrictive summoning seems interesting, makes me want to make all sorts of decks

I'm actually looking for a serious answer instead of this stupid potential meme.

Whenever they link summon a monster, they get to special summon another monster from the deck, which makes them able to build a board extremely quickly off of any single main deck monster, as well as recover very easily from any field wipes. The can very easily link chain off of any single main deck monster into Accesscode Talker, and they have a fusion monster that they can summon from the GY using Thunder Dragon Fusion that has the ability to tribute itself to wipe the opponent's field while special summoning another prank kid to do more link chains with. They're extremely consistent and are able to bring out a number of very powerful monsters off of pretty much anything, while also forcing the opponent to sit and watch your lengthy and frustrating solitaire combos.

I just started the game, what should I know about the shop? I assume it's worth to buy the duel pass gold since you can get back the gems, but what about the packs?

I like the sound of this dog. Tell me more.

Get all 3 of those packs for 750 and the pass
Never buy the master packs

Buy the 3 bundles that cost 750 gems first. They'll give you 3 useful staple cards and cost less than buying 30 packs otherwise. You'll unlock lots of secret packs from the archetypes you pulled cards for, and after you've bought those bundles, secret packs are the only packs you should really pull from since they'll have more of the cards you need.

Buy the Gold Pass. Buy the Ash Blossom bundle, but stay away from the Master Packs. Master Packs are a scam. After buying the Ash bundle, disassemble any SR/UR cards you don't care about, then use the points from that to craft one from an archetype you are interested in building, which will unlock an archetype-specific card pack. Then buy from that until you have all the cards you need to make a deck. Use excess SR/UR to craft staple cards like more Ash Blossoms and Maxx "C.

Play at least the tutorial for gems
Buy the ash bundles
Pull from whatever secret packs you got
If you somehow don't get a secret pack you want, craft one of its SR

no UR juice
6k gems
not sure where to put my gems to get more UR juice

How does Aleister the Invoker and Dogmatika help Shaddols?

Not much more to say, they just gave the archetype a going first play. For only 2 fusion material you get a monster with 1800 defense and is immune to literally all card effects, so your opponent has to beat over it. It also shoots your opponent in the head for 1k damage every turn so they're very annoyed and pressured into defeating it. When they do kill it, you immediately get to summon an OG Ancient Gear Golem from the deck, and if they can't punch over THAT, their battle phase is just over and you get to crush 'em on the crackback.

>keep losing because I draw bricked hands if I go first and keep drawing into nothing I can work with

I dont play this but isnt there a mulligan in ygo?

fix ur deck

Ah right, they also have a smaller dog (sans gun) who also shoots your opponent in the head and is his own fusion spell to make the gun dog.

Attached: the other dog.jpg (421x614, 56.52K)

Dogmatika can dump fusion monsters directly from ED to the GY for their effect with Nadir or Maximus
Invoked field spell protect your fusion and you don't need a normal summon

Because one of Kaz’s autistic rules he forces the game to abide by is that Blue Eyes White Dragon will always be the strongest normal monster, and as an extension of that his “rival” Red Eyes Black Dragon can never surpass him, so all his alternate and upgraded forms have to play second fiddle to the Blue Eyes alternate and upgraded forms. The only Red Eyes card that is genuinely pretty good is his fusion with Dark Magician, and even that is more Dark Magician than it is Red Eyes. Red Eyes is one of the designated cuck archetypes, whenever it gets something cool they’re obligated to give Blue Eyes something even cooler.

It's more the other way around. They run exactly 1 shaddoll card in the main deck, Schism. They dump apkallone to get schism, then banish that apkallone to make Winda before their opponent even starts playing.

same situation
im just gonna save until there's a new strong meta deck or theres a deck i really want to build

Guess I'll look into this more.
I really Shaddolls so I want to try Invoked Dogmatika version.
Thanks!

Ive lost all feeling in my.penis at this point

I challenge you to build a deck around this card.

Why didn't they add a way to lock cards you don't want to accidentally dust?

Attached: 1549141433628.jpg (800x720, 553.61K)

Cyberdark Chimera when?

How the fuck do you "accidentally" dust a card when you need to click the card, click dismantle, open the dismantle window, then click "yes" inside that window

SPYRALs. I'll take my medal now.

QRD on dragonmaid decks?
Pulled this and I dont know if I want to dust it or build a deck with it

Attached: Us1rHsK[1].png (374x543, 296.26K)

When your grinding for dust and going down the list looking for things to delete sometimes you'll forget some random card that is actually used for a niche purpose in your meme decks is in there. It doesn't let you know you are deleting something that's already in one of your decks.

Thanks everyone. I bought the Ash Blossom bundle only (for the deck I want to build I don't need the other bundles and they don't expire so I can buy them later) and I think I got lucky, 2 UR packs, 6 SRs, two of the latter got URs for a total of 5 (one pack had two), dunno how good they are, from decks I saw mentioned I think only Traptrix Cularia is good, not that it matters to me. The truly lucky thing though is I got Toon Bookmark and it unlocked the secret pack.

I don't think you actually understand how the auras work but good for you.

Graveyard is a second hand, constant recursion of big beaters and spells bouncing in and out of the hand, field and GY, can easily search everything they need to fusion summon their boss that negates card effects, bounces into a second fusion boss monster, and pulls more dragons from the GY during standby phases. They also benefit from all forms of generic Dragon support. Good deck despite its outwardly waifubait appearance, but can crumble against decks with banishment effects and well timed search negates..

I never see any other sky strikers players for some reason. I thought everyone would be playing it since it's top tier and has anime girls.

I truly don't, it just had the knight appearing animation on two of the gold auras, so I assumed that's why URs appeared there.

I see them often but it's mostly asians I see running it

Why the fuck is Jinzo Machine Menace a HOPT

at least red eyes is good in toon decks

>enter your pulls
>cut your packs
>refuse to elaborate

Im sorry for playing utopia. My end board doesn't look as bad as it looks I swear

So is the general idea is use one of each color for a combo and.. What links do they usually get out?

I genuinely don't understand that animation. Almost all the times he's appeared that pack ends up being complete garbage

can link monsters link with non link monsters?

Because I built Fur hires which die to every hand trap in the game.

Anyone got that infographic of useful link and spell cards that you should keep?

Attached: 1567892665964.png (916x1335, 626.76K)

yes, read the card and it tells you materials needed
2+ link monsters needs links
2+ effect monsters needs just any monsters with effects
etc

no I'm talking about their effects
like if they point at a monster zone and say that things they link with are immune to effects does that affect non link monsters they're pointing to?

>need to open packs for more UR dust
>dont want to just aimlessly open generic packs
somebody give me a deck that doesnt rely on too many specific URs and also has a secret pack
bonus points if its actually fun

as an ancient gear deck what's the best way to get this fucker out turn 1? I have a scrubby deck and I Feel I play it wrong

I am a superhuman. I have unequivocally the worst draw luck known to mankind.

>Finally actually winning a few games in a row
this little ritual deck is pretty fun bros. I'm way too smooth-brain for xyzs, synchros or links, so having something so basic still work is pretty dope.

I'm new and still learning so I've been opting to go 2nd so far, but Urgent Schedule has often been my saving grace in setting up my field

>Same composer as octopath Traveler
Can we just appreciate how beautiful this OST is?

If it says "points to", it doesn't matter the type of monsters
If it says "co-linked", then the other monster also has to be a link monster that points to it

megaliths or drytroons?

Skystrikers needs a net ban. Infinite momster reborne, spell loops that allow them spam 4 spells every turn nonstop, infinite resummons.

you can still hit zeus with a quick effect though?

10/10

>has 5000 mah battery

If you could give one shit tier archetype some insane support that instantly boosts them up to being viable what would it be?
For me it would karakuri, I love the designs and the play style is really unique.

Summoned Skull getting actual support instead of retrains would be nice. Maybe tie him in with Skull Servant somehow

if they were to become meta that playstyle would probably get deleted

aliens
worms
yubel

I was on a roll, then the rng decides to give me 3 duels un a row where I would absolutely draw no monsters at all
I won against a Eldritch with NOTHING but spell cards with a Sky Striker deck

You can click and drag cards?!

I agree with this user here Especially with pic related. You don't know how many times I bounced back cards that only focus on destruction. Plus, it doesn't allow your opponent to get monsters from their Main Deck if you bounce back Extra Deck monsters.

Attached: Best Card.png (309x450, 370.28K)

>check my missions
>I've only played 2 traps during my entire playtime
Guess it's time to play traptrix for awhile

there's a button to check season rewards. It's literally just +100 gems per rank and +200 gems per category (going from bronze to silver, silver to gold etc)

It's 4:30 in the fucking morning and I just got Harpies to Plat 2. I think I'm gonna make it, bros.

Attached: 1643247777089.jpg (2121x3000, 2.06M)

good stuff, man

I like Gem-Knights, you get like half the required cards in the structure deck from solo mode and they have so many different fusion monsters that you can just pick the ones you’re gonna use and ignore the rest. There’s a few UR cards but they aren’t necessarily absolutely required, most of your URs will be staples (and Block Dragon). They’re pretty mid tier despite being a lot of fun though, in gold and above they’re basically fucked against the popular meta decks if you don’t get a decent starting hand. I’ve dabbed on countless Drytron decks with them though, but that might just be because most Drytron players have room temperature IQs. Very a usable Link monster too, pic related.

Xyz and Links have pretty braindead summoning conditions, but yeah their combos require you to either be big brained or follow a guide, which is why dipshits playing them take 10 minutes per turn. Synchros require a little bit more thought to summon since you need to actually count levels and get the exact amount, but once you’ve got some experience with them they aren’t that bad. Level 4 Tuners help out a ton with the staple Synchros too, which are often around level 8.

Allies of fucking JUSTICE
catastor, cycle reader, and I guess decisive armor are the only ever relevant cards

Basically if it says “points to” then it can be any monster, and if it says “co-linked” then it has to be another Link monster and both are pointing at each other.

It's essentially that one in Solo, the Demise and Ruin deck, with as many of those Imp cards I can find. It's probably bad but i'm winning about half of my games.

Attached: Candle.jpg (421x614, 61.6K)

You didn’t post the Link monster you dope. It’s got no innate protection but if you can compensate for that then you can get shit like Master Diamond and Brilliant Diamond out with no effort.

Attached: EA5A5AEC-A870-46F3-8254-FDA9A5607B11.jpg (421x614, 64.29K)

Trust me bro, you don't want to stick with that deck for long, I know from experience.
Even if you give up a lot of staple cards to make the ritual summons more consistent you still end up bricking half the time. It's not gonna cut it once you start climbing the ranks.

If you want a meme ritual deck that might actually catch people off guard check out Gishki
Almost none of their shit says "once per turn" since it's all ancient so you can do stupis shit like rape their hand or slap 3 level 10 ritual dudes on the board and XYZ into Pain Gainer/Seven Sins

Gradius
They had like one card that worked well with the Dragon Cannons but I wish the space fighters had more reliable ways to get Options on the board besides winning battles with pretty low attack

>fuck up a combo
>they surrender anyway

Attached: g8aWPbP[1].png (259x385, 85.6K)

If a card effect says negate summon and destroy does it just not work against monsters that have destruction protection?

their effect is not active if they are not successfully summoned

was there anything here that would have stopped me from activating halberd's summon negate? I never got a chance to
