I just love everything about Absol. It's a simple design (I've always preferred less is more with designs). Its a perfect combination of elegant and edge. I love it's backstory and the myth of bringing disaster when in fact it want to warn people of disaster. It has a really cool movepool and although I don't play competive anymore and ik Absol was never good, I (still) have a Super Luck build that would crit every 2/3 times that was extremely fun.
God I love Absol so much.

Nidoking. Despite being a rabbit, he's also kind of a kaiju. Looks cool with his armor plates and spikes. Has a good name. Is explicitly male with a female counterpart pokemon (which is more defense-oriented compared to his offense). Poison/ground is a neat combo; is immune to two annoying types. Has some decent moves of his own, but can learn all sorts of cool moves (ice beam, flamethrower, etc). Has well-rounded stats. Can be found early, needs a special stone to evolve (always thought that was a neat thing in pokemon). His pre-evolutions are both high-quality in my opinion; love their aesthetics and they don't suck to use. He even has a special ball type you would use on him.
There's basically nothing to dislike about him.

When I first tried him in game, I thought he was going to be a shitmon, but I ended up being surprised that he was actually a good Pokémon. I tried him in Showdown and when I'm not being an idiot, he can hit quite hard.
Plus I like lizards and I like the Sun. Who wouldn't like this guy?
