X-Antibody Digimon exist in their own continuity where the Digital World reached critical mass and a purge was enacted by its host server Yggdrasil, with only Digimon containing the special X-Antibody being brought over to the new Digital World. The X-Antibody served as a major enhancement to the Digimon, but the designs are really hit or miss (mostly miss).

You’re close, the X-Antibody Digimon were left behind in the old word while Yggdrasil brought over special chosen normal Digimon to the new world. The X-Antibody Digimon then try to go to the new Digital World and Yggdrasil decides to delete all the worlds and start over and that’s where the plot of the Digimon Chronicle story begins
