Catching em all gets you a meaningless bragging rights reward, like Hestu's gift. Who cares if it's easier in this game. It wasn't the point. Filling the Pokedex is an excuse to go on a fun adventure. They've removed everything about Pokemon but the tedious shit. They even kept natures while getting rid of EV training.
