Okay, but memes aside what else do you do besides battle and catch Pokémon? How is that good? I can do that in literally every other pokemon game.

Why don't you go play any other Pokémon game and shut the fuck up retard?

Because now you can play he new Pokemon themed walking simulator and wander around the area doing nothing

I have never seen that criticism for SwSh's wild area, I think you're arguing with voices in your hear.
Anyway I find that battling and catching peaked here. Battling wild pokemon is much harder here than in every other game, they hit harder than they look. Catching is fun too, I like there's multiple approaches you can take to getting pokemon.

>I can do that in literally every other pokemon game.
It's faster and actually fun now. Other than that, no difference.

Oh boy, I can't wait to catch Bidoof again now that its faster than the last few games it appeared in

>I want Pokemon to not be Pokemon
Go play something else?

Obviously, it's a pokemon game.

>SWSH is shit
Yeah, we know.

Nowhere else has Pokemon's monster designs and legally cannot offer them until the day copyright law stops mattering, which will never happen because corporate entities need copyright law to maintain power and add impact to monopolizing absorption of other companies.
People that aren't competitive autists don't care about Pokemon for its gameplay and never have beyond surface-level enjoyment, they care about the monsters. They're too attached to let the designs go because even today, some batch of monsters from the franchise's quarter of a century run captivates a consumer unlike anything else before or after it. No other franchise has figured out how to recapture this spark of charm, and even if they did, it wouldn't be the same because they're not the same monsters that allured interest into the franchise, especially not so easily for people that have been fans since the 90's.

Isn't that why people play and like PLA?

Based and correct

Alpha Pokemon > whatever the Swoshit gimmick was called

I never said that. I just want a more varied gameplay. I don't know why Legendshills expect everyone to be okay with "catch 10 bidoofs" for several dozen hours when the normal games have far more things to do.

PLA is not pokemon

>walk to building

>(Poke) is weak! Throw a Poke Ball now!
>Communicating... Please stand by.

This morning i used a wing ball and sniped a Togetic 50 feet up in the air with it. What other pokemon game can you do that in?

Those dynamax battles in wild area was such disappointing visually..
I mean.. Yeah, it is giant pokemon, but why the fuck they placed them into that one boring cave where you can’t even appreciate how big they are..
They looks really cool in Gym stadiums at least..

Both are shit, dumb galarcuck.

>field with 10 Rhyhorn in it is an "empty" field

Not even just catch 10 Bidoofs, I don't want to catch ANY Bidoofs. I just don't have any desire to catch any more of Pokemon I already own, and catching Pokemon for the sake of catching does not sound like engaging or fun gameplay to me.

Field game tells you to catch them all at the start. Suck it up or don't play, but whatever you do stop fucking whining.

>Field game tells you to catch them all at the start
Why would I do that though? Just because the game tells me to doesn't make it fun.

Read the 2nd part of the post. I don't give a fuck what you do or don't want to do, this isn't your blog. Just don't play and quit your bitching.

>I don’t want to catch ANY bidoofs
mods

I see no reason not to voice my opinions. You not liking them is not a good enough reason for me to not.

Catch them all, not catch them all 50 times

I can post my living dex at any time. I have a Bidoof, and Bibarrel, and have no desire to catch another unless its a new regional variant.

if you guys though the srink raid whas bad, wait until they find out that boxes aren't stasis

No one gives a fuck

Good thing you don’t have to do that for anything

Are you people seriously pretending that it's just the same?

The mechanics for catching pokemon in PLA are actually pretty fun. Similar to you I never cared about catching shitmons in my playthroughs but the variety of methods in catching has made it an entertaining event in its own. I feel compelled to catch a bidoof, evolve it, etc. The "catch x pokemon 10 times" meme is hyperbolic, there are a bunch of tasks you can do to complete a pokemon's pokedex entry. Defeating in battle, seeing it use a move, defeating it with a specific move type, completing quests involved with the pokemon. An interesting example is cherubi. I have only ever been able to find one cherubi and in order to complete its pokedex entry I've had to use it a lot for battling. I've never used a cherubi or really ever cared about it but doing it in this game made me realize how cool it is, and when it evolved into cherrim it made it more special.

I would play a pokemon game that takes place in a PC.
SS is better because at least it has multiple ways to battle, trainer batters, overall more pokemon and items

Most of the tasks are just repetitive do x, or see x multiple times though. Catch 10 bidoofs isn't really hyperbolic because most of the time that's an easy way to get the research level up. That or just fighting the pokemon and mowing them down.

Most of the tasks are very simple to do and you'll be doing most of them during typical pokemon gameplay. Tasks like "use move x times" are easy when you're grinding and that move happens to be strong STAB.

Raids were tedious.Alphas are cool

They're both shit

BRO LITERALLY JUST PRESS AND RELEASE THE FUCKING TRIGGER BUTTON CHUCK A FUCKIN BALL AT THE DUMBASS THING
>NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO WHAT A WASTE OF TWO SECONDS NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
straight up kill yourself man

>BRO LITERALLY JUST PRESS AND RELEASE THE FUCKING TRIGGER BUTTON CHUCK A FUCKIN BALL AT THE DUMBASS THING
Why? I don't want another one

you do it because it's the objective my man
have you ever played a video game

> NOOO I DONT WANNA CATCH TEN OF THE SAME POKEMON!

Then dont faggot.

Do you only do objectives in games because the game tells you to? What happens when the objectives aren't fun?

well normally, if a normal well-adjusted person doesn't enjoy a video game they stop playing it
perhaps they'd even stop playing games with similar objectives alltogether

tbf you can EV boost pokemon by catching a bunch of shitmons and releasing them

you have to

That is not necessary for reaching research level 10 at all. Everyone who has played the game for like 30 minutes know that.

The problem is the lack of side activities.

in every other game, catching a pokemon involved clicking a button to throw a ball. It's a lot more dynamic now, you can sneak around it, or battle it, you can try to get a back-strike, get in close for a heavy ball, aim just right for a feather ball. I'll get called a shill regardless but to pretend that the catching of pokemon in PLA is the same as the catching in other games is incorrect.

yes it is

You have to do different things depending on the Pokémon you’re trying to catch. Catching Pokémon has always been a hook for the games. People catch multiple of the same Pokémon to either trade or because it has different nature or something. I like how they made tasks for the Pokédex and this could be used in more core games

>when the normal games have far more things to do
This hasn't been true since BW2

>It's not catching. It's ADVANCED catching
Kek

The most retarded thing about dynamax to me are the power spots. If you're gonna have giant fucking pokemon how about actually letting them walk around in the wild area?

Then don't. You can literally just kill a bunch of them and still hit the required 10 points you need to unlock their Pokedex entry.

Catching something literally takes like 3 seconds and you can continue on your way while the ball is shaking. You don't need to wait for an encounter, wait for an encounter screen transition, wait for all the pre-battle animations, wait for a ball throwing animation, wait for the ball to shake 3 times, wait for the result of the ball throw, wait for your pokemon to gain experience, wait to nickname the pokemon/send it to the PC, and wait for the post battle field screen transition.

Everything in Legends is seamless and fun.

Chucking balls doesn't sound like my idea of fun

is that how you catch that fucker?

Yes, dumb shill. Even the later games gave other parts of it outside of mindlessly catching Pokémon.

Not OP. I appreciate the changes made to catching Pokemon. I think that's neat. However, I see a lack of things to do with the Pokemon after catching them other than catching more Pokemon. I'm addition, I think they could have made researching/filling the dex be more rewarding in ways related to how the research was done.

>I want to play pokemon, but I don't want to catch or battle pokemon, no matter how many fundamental changes they make to these systems
??????

agreed. I'm slowly filling out my checklists and I've quickly realized that catching the pokemon is pretty much the only thing that has you interact with them beyond just wanting them on your team. The pokedex is the only thing that keeps you wanting to catch each pokemon, but after you get 1, i dont rly find many reasons to catch a duplicate.

Once I was finished catching my 10 bidoof I didn't really have any reason to keep 'em around, so I just released em. Thing is pokemon has always struggled with making duplicate mons seem worthwhile. Unless you're going for a living dex or just REALLY need that ability or nature (which for pretty much every game these things will never be a make-or-break for a win) there's no real reason to get them beyond extrinsic things like shinies or marks(marks were a SwSh exclusive element anyway).

They could've given you an objective like "Level up 5 Bidoof 5 times each" to make each one seem more important on it's own, although that also sounds really tedious and not fun at all.

>Normal games have more to do

But they quite literally do not. Pokémon has had like 3 gens that actually reward exploring and besides that don’t provide any activity that doesn’t directly move the story forward outside of a singular battle facility added at the end of every game.

You have been misinformed. Why are you spouting bulls hit about a game you have never played? You can literally complete the entire pokedex barring legendaries and mythicals without catching a single Pokémon (if you also skip the side quests that require you to catch)

You are unwell.

It's not true in BW2 either.

Where's the progression? Where's the gym battles? Where's the elite 4? Where's the evil organization?

>Normal games have more to do

Retard. The Pokemon games almost never have shit to do. This is basically the first game with a full selection of quests and side quests to do. The amount of content and shit to do in PLA is nuts and there's like no comparison.

No you don't. Just do something else in the game. You don't have to 100% complete to have fun with it.

I haven't completed a Pokedex in a main Pokemon game in years because it's just boring to me. I still get my money's worth in other ways. This game I probably will go for 100% because it's much more open ended and fun to complete, not to mention the fact that it's a much smaller dex and no trade requirements.

>pokemon = gym battles, elite 4 and evil organization
lol

What are you like 10 years old? Why does every game need a super villain team trying to nuke the earth for no reason?

The game does have a plot with progression, development and boss battles, but they're different than gyms.

Even Galar has Rotom Rally and the Curry Minigame. Try again shill.
