Just got an 1833-W 5 Francs today. Only cost $22, a bit higher than what I normally pay for the same weight of US junk, but with it being a 189 year old Crown, I'm not complaining.

Amd sisters....

>That pic has more Silver in it than the Average American owns today
>The average American in 1964 would've had more Silver than this just in his pocket change
Where did it all go wrong?

Have some more LMU Crowns on the way, but I'm shocked by how cheap that 5 Francs was given it's age, managed to come in cheaper than the Napoleon III 5 Francs I also ordered.
>That 1923 Swiss 5 Francs
How much did that cost? I've wanted one of those for a while, but I'm not sure what a good price for one is.

Do we even have enough silver to use in currency? The industrial needs for it increased quite dramatically after the digital age began.

I think I paid $45 or 50 for it.
Pic related.

>Do we even have enough silver to use in currency?
Probably not (unless you only make high denomination coins out of it with only a small amount of Silver or something), but my point was that nobody owns precious metals outside of electronics or Jewelry anymore.

>I think I paid $45 or 50 for it.
That's a bullet I'm going to have to bite. I already have some small 5 Francs from the 30s, but I need a full size to really experience the design as the engraver intended (and to properly complete my LMU collection).

You said you had a site that had cheap LMU crowns a few days back, didn't you?
Care to link it?

>but my point was that nobody owns precious metals outside of electronics or Jewelry anymore.
This is weird when you think about it, almost everyone had a bit of silver or gold just 50 years ago. Now we're so screwed up we think a digital monkey is money.

>You said you had a site that had cheap LMU crowns a few days back, didn't you?
Did I? I honestly can't remember.
I got most of my LMU stuff from Ebay deals I managed to snag. I might've said I got them from somewhere else in the past to deliberately throw people off Ebay when a bunch of stuff was listed there at good prices.
I might've also been referring to my LCS's website, which doesn't allow you to order online, but lists some of what they have in stock and can buy if you go there physically.

problem is i cant find many actual 5 franc coins which were made until 1969 and which are of good price,i have found only one which costs 7 euros from 1933,the rest are from 20-30 euros in a absolutelly dirty state
