Nor do they undo the history of what took place with women after they were granted those rights. On one hand you had rather naive, generally good faith progressives who believed their own egalitarian bullshit. The same line of blank slate thinking that found utopia in reform, gender equality being part of it. Think HG Wells.
As the ‘60s came along, you had opportunistic liberal men who saw womens lib as an opportunity to get laid. On the idea that female sexuality liberated from traditional norms would be as indiscriminate and powerful as male sexuality. And benefit them. This was say, a Gene Roddenberry, Hugh Hefner idea of it. With women becoming ultimately as rational and logical as men as time went on.
And then, finally, you had conservatives who assumed that marital norms would be the same, and that women would uniformly vote as a conservative voting bloc alongside their husbands. Idiocy clouded by Victorian morality.
