If property taxes were flat per square foot rather than calculated on market value

would that solve some of the problems?

It would sure cut city folks taxes and raise them on the suburbs and rurals so sure I guess

tax assessors rarely charge the full market value of the house, they always under estimate by 30% minimum. i've seen places go as low as 70% less than the actual value.

but yeah this would harm people inland.

Nope. I like my acreage boy. And my big house.

Do you really *own* your property if you have to pay a certain percentage of the property value every year?

>raise them on the suburbs and rurals so sure I guess

Acreage is a lower tax bracket

>but yeah this would harm people inland
Average and farmland is taxes in a different bracket than Sq footage

>acreage
Different tax bracket

>Do you really *own* your property if you have to pay a certain percentage of the property value every year?

Exactly.

You would get those old german style houses where the second story was bigger than the first.
