Post your skincare routine and advice

i'll start:
• rinse face with cold water
• cleanser
• toner
• moisturizer

i only do this shit in the morning because i'm too lazy to even bother in the evening.
also got myself a coal mask recently against blackheads and oily skin praying to god that helps.

- clean face with warm damp facecloth
- shave if needed (usually every other day)
- wet face with warm water
- massage in cleanser for about 1 - 2 minutes
- wet face with warm water
- make sure i get all the cleanser off by washing my face again with a face cloth
- witch hazel w/ cotton pad
- moisturizer

i do this after every time i brush my teeth (morning & night). idk if the excessive use of a face cloth is beneficial or not but i really don't want to have cleanser left on my face

waaaaait you're supposed to massage cleanser in . . . ? thank you.
also idk cloth use might benefit you by exfoliating or something.

cerave cleanser
hyaluronic acid serum
also take 20-40mg hyaluronic acid orally
moisturize immediately after a shower
tinted mineral sunscreen in early spring/summer, i'm not obsessive about it though since i look better tan and live really far north
prescription eczema cream for face and body when i need it, making sure to take week-long breaks often
also use pimple patches occasionally

honestly have no idea if massaging it in helps, but im sure it cant hurt to make sure it gets in every pore :)

Where the fuck are any resources that don't drop 20 brand names that aren't even sold where I live? Not to mention, most skincare content is either people posting their routines without context, or others telling why they're bad.

I take a shower every couple days.

Really tho I cleanse with Shu Uemura oil cleansers, tone with ye olde witch hazel, and use an spf 50 sunscreen moisturizer regardless each morning. Stopped doing night time skincare and all the rest cuz I'm so lazy.

yeah desu i don't think anyone needs like 15 step skincare routine. it's a giant meme by middle age rich women because they have nothing better to do.

if you have a specific problem, like dry patches or acne or even preventing future wrinkles, look up what to do to fix it. you do have to use critical thinking to sort through the blatant ads and pseudoscience. once you do that, get a product, any brand that's in your budget, and if you see results keep using it. routines don't need 20 complicated steps, even one product once or twice a day may be all you need.

How often do you all exfoliate your face? I've been doing it every day before shaving but my friend told me that's wayyyy too often, she only does it once a week

i still haven't exfoliated my face once. any recomendations on the products?

literally just use a cleanser and then use a good day cream, what the fuck is wrong with you hons, you all talk like you have an onlyfans? unless you're hondosing or a pornstar you don't need 90% of what this thread says.. jfc

My dermatologist told me to use sunscreen year-round
Those UVrl rays are amplified by the overcast skies in winter, or some shit

Hi, im You don't need a scrub or tool to exfoliate. If you get a decent cleanser that doesn't dry you out, you can make continuous circles motions all around your face for 1 - 2 minutes and it will achieve the same effect. You should do a decent cleaning before and after shaving to prevent ingrowns, yes, but really you should never be shaving your face because you're creating more facial hair (with thicker shafts too). If you have the time even tweezing each hair is better. Or just get a wax occasionally until you can get laser/electro

The problem is, that I get brand names from the other side of the planet rather than the types of products to look for.

I do things in the following order
- Rinse with water and use cleansing flannel (AM & PM)
- Exfoliate for 10 minutes with AHA 30% + BHA 2% peeling solution (PM once every 3 days)
- Cerave foaming cleanser (AM & PM)
- Facemask sheet usually collagen or retinol (PM once a week)
- Hyaluronic acid (AM and PM)
- Cerave moisturising lotion
- Retinol day cream (AM) / night cream (PM)

I also use homemade facemasks every now and then, and will start to use facial tools every 2 months since it was successful the one time I've done it

Thanks, I'm a couple sessions into laser now and some sections have disappeared completely, while others are more stubborn. So if I don't shave it looks really scuffed lol
My friends and even my mom tell me they're jealous of my skin but when I look in the mirror all I see are pores and blemishes so I dunno

thats yanks for you, they call paracetamol "Tylenol" and plasters are "Band-Aid", aka Freedom and Liberty

My skin care routine took me from giant, pulsating boils, to clear, smooth skin.

I can post my routine, procedures if anyone wants

I use a konjac sponge every day and I use a glycolic acid toner once a week

absolute lie

your body doesn't "grow" more hair because you shave
