It's a show focused on obscure references, it's niche by design. Though Miku did give the show a great boost in visibility, which is why so many companies partner with her.

if I had to make a comparison to a western television show I would not pick south park, maybe ren and stimpy or something from that era of saturday morning cartoons

This season has had some pretty nice shows in my opinion.
But you do you and persist in your bad taste.
The fact it had to compete for attention with Overlord 4 and Classroom of the Elite 2 meant it had already lost.
Not to mention Hataraku Maou-sama, Yofukashi no Uta, Vermeil, Isekai Ojisan, Isekai Meikyuu...
