Why do you watch Anime?
Why do you watch Anime?
Because it helps me escape from my otherwise pitiful existence full of anxiety and melancholy.
Easy to find stuff with no niggers.
Purely for cute girls doing cute things.
why choose anime over other forms of escapism?
I just want to fit in with the cool kids.
Because it more than anything else offers the most unrealistic and outlandish settings that give a greater degree of escapism.
Because I want to watch stuff and western media sucks and is just a propaganda machine.
Anime is degenerate, but it's not that bad and a lot of it is actually genuine degeneracy.
is it truly escapism if it's still just a reflection of reality? I think true escapism would be a show about a bunch of inanimate objects that don't have any dialogue.
or maybe that would count too, it would have to be a bunch of abstract shapes and colors to be truly escapism. I don't know, I hope those shows get made just to see what they'd be like
to pad my mal stats
You can't escape if the place you are trying to escape to offers to space for your imagination.
If all you see is abstract shapes, then what you will see is the reality that you project onto it - the same reality that you are trying to escape from.
What's your definition of genuine degeneracy and ingenuine degeneracy?
i'm interested, what do you mean by "space for your imagination" in this context?
this.
i'm sick of fat browns and half shaved "2badass4u" tattooed psuedo sluts.
i still hate the flaming faggot characters and trannys in anime though
To take a break from playing video games.
it's cute and funny
I've fallen in love with anime characters, stories and settings since I watched anime on TV as a kid back in the late 90s.
No western media has ever evoked the same feelings in me.
Stuff to think and fantasize about. A story.
Because every other form of entertainment is already past its peak in my opinion. I've played Quake 3 and Unreal Tournament and have never felt the need to play a newer video game. I've watched Rear Window and A Clockwork Orange and have never felt the need to watch a newer movie. With anime, Kimagure Orange Road and
Yokohama Kaidashi Kikou, they're good, but the new stuff is good too. Dororo and Eighty Six. Of course this will end too, but that's really just another iyashikei if you squint at it.
Mindless escapism and it's fun to see how different Japanese culture/media is. Also, with western media and tv there's generally an expectation that you have to pay to watch or put with commercials, so anime actually ends up being more accessible.
