It never will with character designs like that

>Has One Piece surpassed Naruto yet?
No.
>if not, will it ever?
No.

It won't surpass Dragon Ball, that's for sure.

One piece has always been better. The only way it doesn't is if Oda drops the ball hard and fucks up the ending even worse than Kishimoto did. I hope he doesn't, but I swear pretty much all mainstream manga have shit endings. Is this just me?

FOTNS is the only one that didn't end like shit if you don't count the sequel

Will both ever surpass Bleach?

Will any of these """big 3""" ever surpass Fairly Tail though?
I don't think so.

>One piece has always been better.
>always

Not true. The combat in Naruto is in another tier in comparison, and the drama is much more relatable. It's easier for a new viewer to be invested in Naruto than invested in One Piece, even if One Piece is narratively more solid. I couldn't get into One Piece at all until I heard about Marineford because I love drama.

One Piece comes across as more childish and lighthearted, ON THE SURFACE, until it became obvious that Kishimoto is a hack dealing with concepts he didn't understand.

>The combat in Naruto is in another tier in comparison
Yes, combat in OnePiece was alwaus kinda meh compared to Naruto, mostly because it's never as dangerous and bloody. Only Robin ever had Naruto tier combat when she just joined, like when she snapped some villain guy's back, you could sense her assasin experience. It's not as adrenalibe packed or developed, fruit powers were kinda kewl but once they introduced haki fights just became total garbage, the story is nice and the characters are more endearing than Naruto characters en masse. Although what Oda did to Robin post timeskip is a crime, went from hot assassin into shitty moeblob.
>and the drama is much more relatable.
No, OnePiece character drama shits on Naruto's retarded flashback hackery.

Naruto combat isn't that impressive later on either. One Piece also fell down a bit, but Crocodile and Enel fights were still great.

Kill yourself, narutard.

One Piece can be better than Naruto only if Oda returns hot&dangerous Robin and ships her with Luffy unironically.

First of all, they all job to DB.
Second, Fairyfags only make it as far as it does because of the females. And torture. And females being tortured. That is IT!

what is the retard term for wan piss fans? pisstards? piecetards? pissfags?

It has. Since chapter 1

falseflagging narutards

Bitch.

It has since chapter 1

Outside of USA, everyone acknowledge that One Piece is far better. You gotta be retarded or live in America to think otherwise

proof?

Imagine believing unironically that Naruto was better than OP since like the Alabasta arc.

Hell, it's not just worldbuilding, it's the very specific stories that are told, the characters being funny and goody yet human, the pretty wild ideas for combat and yadayadyada.

Even early One Piece has great ideas that are clearly setting the way for how Oda will handle future arcs. Just go check out the early plot on Usopp home island.
Oda there did something I don't remember Kishimoto ever doing: used the terrain and a specific objective for both parties to create the tension of the fight, rather than just having cool looking dudes punching with other dudes.

I overall agree with the idea that Naruto is easier to get into... but that's when you are a fucking 12yo.

Don't get me wrong, early Naruto is plenty of enjoyable stuff, but rereading the start of both manga 10 years older then I was at the time, it looked pretty obvious to me that Oda knew what he was doing from early on.

Similarly I don't think that the "moment-to-moment" experience of reading Naruto is in any way better. Sure, overall Naruto (early) action scenes are better done, but let's be fucking honest, most people, even here, have no fucking clue about panel composition and related topics.

OP combat was never particularly fashionable, but it had "ideas" that made those combats way more interesting than whatever edgy idea most other shonens come up with, apart from specific very good ideas.

It's easy to make something look cool with flashy designs and ninja/samurai/wizard attacks, it's much harder to sell on the importance of a specific combat due to its situation and tactical enviroment.

Sure, we all know that all OP stories will eventually be about Rufy punching an asshole multiple times in the face, but it's how you get there that's engaging.
