Eh, archers still have their uses. Despite almost everyone technically being able to use at least beginner class magic (they just need to be able to remember the magical words, after all, and even Eris and Ghyslaine could do that), the common person cannot cast spells that often, or don't even have the opportunity to train it at all. So it's still useful to have an alternate long-range fighting ability, if your magic runs out. And developing the battle aura and becoming really good at the superhuman feats still requires a shitload of training.
They also of course are silent weapons, unlike magic, which you have to chant rather loudly and audibly, so they do make for a good stealth weapon.
