The Mike Era skits have many gems it's true, but the Joel era was far more consistent. I never skip Joel skits but many of the Mike Era ones (Sci-Fi Channel days especially) are groaners

Saw Rifftrax live and it was so embarrassing and existentially dreadful that I've never watched any riff content since, I had an easier time sitting through a feminist comedy show which I could at least laugh at ironically to blend in as I was trying to get some fat art school girl puss. Really wasn't worth it.

I blame it on the characters Brain Guy and Professor Bobo. It was too cheesy even for MST3K. They should have just teamed Pearl with someone acting similar to TV's Frank.
