Mexican independence

Thread for the celebration of mexican independence.
Some time today there will be a concert followed by the traditional independence yell at 11 or 12.
Current stream is the capital city square until official stream begins.

Yes and led the forces but he had military officers as help then he died and another priest continued to lead.

It's crazy how much that piece of land has changed over the years.

Is not quick but it starts with a priest called Miguel Hidalgo ringing the church bell and called people to fight the government, his army of peasants took a few cities and they massacred a bunch of spanish people. He was executed and another priest took charge Jose Maria Morelos but he turn out to be a very good military leader but also was captured and executed then a lot of fighters had stop fighting and took a pardon some other just hid. The fight was in charge of Vicente Guerrero who didnt want to surrender and was on a steal mate with the spanish loyal forces. The leader of the spanish forces Agustin the Iturbide in New Spain negotiated with Vicente Guerrero and agreed to accept independence if they become a monarchy and make him king and keep privileges of the spanish in mexico but the monarchy only lasted 2 years and Iturbide was executed. Vicente Guerrero became president of the republic but was also executed by a conservative faction.

I wish somebody would drop a nuke at cdmx

What specific grievances did the Mexicans have against the Spanish crown that sparked the pursuit for independence?

It's not Cinco de mayo though

congrats

second independence day when Mexico becomes free of cartels

5 of may is an irrelevant event of a war we had against the french, that's like americans celebrating friday the 13

Lack of independence is itself grievance enough
Colonial economy
Mexicans couldnt reach highest seats of power not even full Spanish born in Mexico could, someone born in spain would always have to go to Mexico to rule.

cringe, Mexico should be French

Sore looser
